we need changes

i was talking about deebo being a problem after the SB. and we need that home run DC hire.

on my wishlist i almost want a GM to work with lynch and kyle can focus on play design less on personnel. kyle needs all his focus on this offense.

You're living in a fantasy world. Any take that involves Kyle having less power (hire an OC, take away his player/draft power, hire DC/ST without his input) is not going to happen. The guy is arrogant. He's going into 2025 the same way he came in to 2024. And here's the kicker. Sorenson will still be DC, unless Kyle decides to move him to STs and move Staley down to DC. And he's probably going to keep Juice and Deebo.

The Kyle Shanahan era is about to go down in a heap of ashes. This is the beginning. Wait until next year when he just goes with more of the same. This team will self implode and he will be out of here. Good riddance!

Sucks that we have to waste another year when Kyle should have been fired after he gacked away another Super Bowl.

Perhaps the 49ers could take notes from LA's organization. Despite being regularly trounced as Kyle Shanahan's team rose to prominence, the Rams are the ones who seized on their Super Bowl run and won a Lombardi Trophy. Despite being down in the second half in both of their games this year, the Rams showed resilience and grew stronger as the game went on. Their final play call, a 5-man blitz on a Hail Mary that neutered San Francisco's scoring chance before Purdy could get the ball out of his hand, was the kind of inspired coaching decision that 49ers fans haven't seen in all too long. It smelled like the difference between a coach willing to gamble to give his team an edge in the most critical situations, and one nursing a 3-0 lead in the second quarter like the game ended at the half. While it's hard to argue that the Rams are a dominant franchise with the kind of Super-Bowl-or-bust aspirations the Niners have, the 49ers have no right to claim it should have been them. They aren't even a winning team.

-the Kyle Shanahan era in a nutshell
-McVay is elite, Kyle is not even close.

He's earned more than just one frustrating down season before being axed. If he just runs it back next year without making some needed adjustments in the coaching staff, personnel and in his own approach (he needs to adjust to the league's adjustments again) then I'll be with you.

Oh just wait he's gonna run it back with this team. He can't afford to offload his friends like Deebo and Juscyk

I think he's more willing to move on from guys than you believe. They cut Bowman. They traded Buckner. They cut Armstead. They drafted Lance to replace Jimmy. They've made their share of ruthless business decisions.

They usually wait until the offseason to make these moves. Typically in season you live or die with the team and preparation you worked with in the summer. 2021 (Deebo wideback) and 2022 (CMC trade) are exceptions rather than the norm. I suspect he knew that if Deebo couldn't be better they weren't winning in the playoffs anyway. I don't like that he put it to an ultimatum tonight, but I think he knows what he must do this offseason. I'll be disappointed in him and Lynch if they don't bite the bullet. In the end it's a business.

There's a fine line between loyalty to the guys who came through for you in the past and not moving on from them for the health of the overall team. They've reached that point with a few guys, Deebo in particular. We'll see what happens, but I'm expecting them to be mostly ruthless again because of how ineffective things got this season. I hope that includes Shanahan's approach to his offense, too, because it's time to adjust again to the league's adjustment to him.

No this game was on Shanahan and the offense, but I'm not ready to fire him like the rest of you whiners.

But it is Kyle's Tomsula year. If he has a Chip Kelly year next year he will be gone.

I'm not ready to fire him...he has earned another year...but if next year is like this year, his seat will be getting hot for sure.
