I was touching on the topic being discussed above.

as for lance. Total bust. I don't blame the FO for taking a flyer… just unfortunate we were drafting so high on on a Covid year. None of those QBs worked out. s**t situation and terrible outcome. I don't blame the FO. They took a gamble with limited available information. It didn't work out

It was a perfect storm to take a chance without having a direct impact. We needed a QB, this isn't the first time ever that a QB turned into a bust and certainly not the last.

Now let's think about this year, a current down year with a lot of injuries and misfortune. Which equals a better draft slot.

Since we have QB locked in, do we trade up.. is there anyone worth trading up for.. maybe a Chris jones type game wrecker like Graham?

McVay has Stafford, what did he do with Goff? Absolutely nothing and look at Goff now in DET, mvp candidate. Obviously McVay was the issue not Goff. LaFleur has done nothing. Reid obviously has Mahomes, without him Reid is mediocre. McDermott can't get past Mahome/Chiefs. Harbaugh inherited a great roster with Kap before every defense figured out how to stop him. The only one I'd give serious credit too is Tomlin, no matter what the roster he's had winning season each and every year.

is this a serious post? mcvay went to the SB with goff, do we remember? what is going on?

'mcvay was the issue'

so you believe in goff and not mcvay??

And scored only 3 points. My point is McVay gets more credit than he deserves. I'd still take Kyle over him.

Has there ever been a team besides LA to score 3 pts in a SB?

I think with the team having to pay Purdy now it's more important to keep the picks and hope we hit on as many as possible. Probably gonna lose some guys, plus depth is a necessity. If there was a can't miss prospect at a position of great need, then maybe trade up. Otherwise restock.

mcvay is pretty badass. lot of young talent on that rams D, with stafford, and nice WRs, and RBs. i always look forward to shanny vs Mcvay. that's just good football, tho the weather got the better of it on this last one, and deebo sucked. it's usually darn good football.

I feel the exact way. You swing for QB. They swung massive and missed which is enough to get most regimes fired, but they hit on Purdy which made up for it imo. Also with that context in mind I am far more forgiving in they swing and missing trying to find a franchise QB since they mostly draft and built a fantastic roster otherwise. Now the trenches have been frustrating so I'm not pretending its prefect, but over all they have done a great job.

I guess I wouldn't mind that, but what is the actual cost? Are you thinking Mason Graham? He will probably be top 5. Is that much of a difference maker and how much to move up. Everything we give up is another body lost etc.

Logic tells me take the bpa who falls, but if they love a guy and hes within reasonable reach and/or they thing he can be a significant difference maker, sure..

says we spent 3 ones on a guy who by all rights should have gone undrafted

it's one of an ever growing pile of red flags here

Go check the lance thread and see how many disagreed with this. I believe (based off memory) Afrikan was anti drafting lance… I wouldn't imagine playing lance is the point afrikan was making above

I was more against us trading up to #3... trading all those pics for a rookie QB.. like if it were for a #1 for a generational talent.. then maaaybe. I've always been more for a proven Star Vet QB, if you're going to go crazy with a trade like that.

BUT after watching clips of Lance and seeing the option of him or Fields or Mac Jones... I hoped it were Trey.

As far as my point... I know some forget the feeling at that time.. but Jimmy was really playing bad.. throwing INTs or fumbling at the worse times. And when Lance got in there and Kyle ran the ball and was calling play-action off those runs... and Trey was getting first downs and we won an important game without drama in the 4th QTR..... With the reputation that Trey got from College that he protects the ball... with THAT Jimmy G coming back from injury (and passing as if he were injuried)... I mean... I just thought Trey, even as a young rookie, gave us the best chance.... not because I super believed in Trey, but because I didn't trust Jimmy..an injured careless Jimmy G at that...and Jimmy continued to do dumb s**t and turn the ball over at the bad times in the first two playoff games... and he couldn't help put the Rams away when the defense held them for so long.

We held the Rams to only 7pts for three qtrs.... then in the forth our defense couldn't hold for any longer. We couldn't put them away on offense. And I know some like to bring up Tartt dropping that int.. but that wasn't the end of the game... Jimmy and our offense had one or two more drives to end it with a 1st down or two... but we couldn't put them away. Another good effort by the defense gone to waste.
