Harbs and Payton are both leaps better than ks. His idea of adjusting to teams who have figured him out is to grow a mustache. Enough said. Look at what Denver is developing into…the turnaround with the chargers is also impressive. Next year will be very interesting. It's his make or move the hell on year with us. We are stuck with him for at least one more year. Deebo running plays, stupid timeouts, growing a pair, playing the hot hand and maybe teaching your team to not kill drives with boneheaded penalties are some of the issues I hope he addresses. He likely will not address those issues and he will continue to ignore the oline and he won't add real coaching assistants He is not ready to admit he needs all that. run it back Kyle is what we will get and we will still be talking about the need for new blood next year.. I suspect more fans will be ready to ship him out though.

maybe preseason 2025 we can hash this all out
the only thing that both Harb and Pay share that is better than KS, is that they both bail on their teams when they turn them into s**t

To be honest, the vid input by Kolohe says it all to me. He has no self control under pressure on the sideline. Personally I think he is better off in the college game.

he's a passionate guy and he put his whole being into winning a SB. he got as close as you can with a flawed roster. he's .673 in the pro game. he clearly is after 1 thing, a SB ring. he has the NCAA equivalent. that's why he left college.

Flawed roster LOL

You can also be passionate and not act like a clown on the sidelines.

Clown? Would Jim Harbaugh show up Drunk with his players to Super Bowl week? HELL f**kING NA!

He ain't that type of person or Head Coach. Not that type of leader.

How many times have we seen this image of him leading his men in college and the Pros? He loves being a Head Coach. He loves it more than a damn drink.

.

the amount of work EVERY HC puts into their job is crazy…it's not just Jim. Kyle looks like he's aged 20yrs since coming here.

I never thought about this!
Have we gotten all of RB's hurt this season?

What's going on with this?

Not talking about eras. Both coaches lost Superbowls that they should have won. But if we're going off coaching 'prowess', Harbaugh was a better head coach. He had better command of the team, and was great at managing games. Unfortunately he was stuck with 2 below par quarterbacks. Alex Smith was a bust and up until Trey Lance was the worst draft choice in 49ers history, and Kaep was a one hit wonder that went from Superman to Superbust when team found a way to take away his legs.

Kyle had an MVP candidate in Brock Purdy, an OPOY Christian McCaffrey, a loaded offense and defense and lost to a meh KC team. I think the 2023 49ers had as many probowlers as the 1994 squad, and that team burned through the playoffs en route to a 5th trophy. Kyle basically limped his way to the SB then choked as always…

Dear lord, lol.

One of the first things I remember about Harbaugh was his inability to manage games and conservative decision making (similar to Kyle). Game two of his career with SF he declined a 1st down penalty on a made field goal. They lost that game in major part due to that decision.

As far as QB's go they both do a good job protecting QBs by focusing on the run game first. You have a good understanding of what Purdy is as a player IMO. The next step for you is understanding why a player like him could have an MVP type year… one of the more efficient years we've seen at the position. It's Kyle Shanahan.

The one disadvantage Jim had here is that he didn't have the personnel control that Kyle has. But he also stepped onto a loaded roster initially, especially on defense.

Let's not forget the sheer number of wasted timeouts in the JH era because we couldn't get a play call in on time.

I don't think they forget, they were probably just casual fans that jumped on the bandwagon.

I don't remember any talk around the league about Harbs being any kind of genius for offense or defense. I've heard it many times about KS and his offense. I like how you say "we're stuck with him" LOL. We're lucky to have him. He took this team, which was a dumpster fire, and turned it into a perennial title challenger.

He was a former QB, but his offenses have always been pretty meh, whether here, or at Michigan.

He thought Roman was a great OC... He got saved by Kap for a year and a half until he got figured out and stopped carrying about football, besides that our offense was never that good.

JH is a great motivator, gets the most of his players. But he's not some Xs and Os coach. And his decision making / time management was never on the level of the top HCs in the league. Which I agree that Kyle also isn't great at either.

I don't share the same dislike for Roman that a lot of 49ers fans do. I think they did a good job with what they had to work with here. That said, I agree with the other parts of the post. Jimbro and Kyle are both good coaches and they succeed at their jobs differently. Share some of the same 'flaws' as well.
Kyle has achieved more at the NFL level than Jimmy H, even though both of their achievements so far isn't what we wanted.

Kyle: 4/5 NFC games last 5 years, 2 superbowl losses.
Jimmy H: 3 straight NFC games, 1 superbowl loss.
