Since Kyle was blind on Darnold, he is free to take a hot seat next season.
How was he blind on Darnold? He was RIDICULED for signing Darnold last offseason, then Purdy has a Pro Bowl season while going to the Super Bowl with two comeback playoff wins and while leading a go ahead drive in the 4th and in OT in the Super Bowl. NOBODY was suggesting Kyle bring back Darnold as the starter this season and bench Purdy.

#49ers fall to 0-43 in the regular season and playoffs under Kyle Shanahan after trailing by 8+ points in the 4th quarter. Only coaches since at least 1991 with a worse record:
— Josh Dubow (@JoshDubowAP) December 23, 2024
Dom Capers 0-57
Bobby Ross 0-53

It's astonishing how terrible he is at comebacks. This is brutally terrible. Just another thing on the loooooong list of his inability to adapt to the situation.

Show's a major lack of adjustments. And just being flat out coached

While that is a horrible record, how many of those games were similar to yesterday? We didn't go down by 8+ in the 4th qtr until there was 1:44 left in the game. No team(HC) would be giving anything over 1% chance to pull off that win.
Now let's look at the playoff losses in said scenario.
NFCCG vs Philly no QB no chance to comeback.
1st SB vs Chiefs. We don't go down 8+ until 1:12 in the game. Again improbable for any HC to comeback.
Kyle's not perfect, Brock's not perfect but there are far bigger issues with this team that HC/QB.

And I thought his biggest weakness was holding on to leads.

Dude is playing with backups and rookies all over the damn place. Just say you don't want to use context.

Agreed, this Josh Dubow guy is clearly a SF hater based off all his tweets. Might as well use Evan Hill
I love when someone tosses out some obscure stat like that, which requires a TON of context, but folks aren't here for that.

Kyle isn't a good COACH but he is a GREAT play caller. You can win a Super bowl with him when he has the exact right pieces. When he doesn't its going to look terrible.

To hold that stat against Shanahan is fairly idiotic, given that he hasn't had a legit 'great' QB for his entire tenure in SF. What is hilarious is that Aaron Rodgers - a guy who you can easily argue is a top 10 QB of all time - has a record of something like 3-50 when he trails by double digits in the fourth quarter.
There is a reason Aaron Rodgers has just one Super bowl (they should of lost to the Bears in the NFC title game that year) and his best team in GB got beat in the divisional round by 17 points.

Yeah.....his defense has allowed an average of 33.5 points in those 10 losses. Fault Rodgers for whatever you want, and he's got some....but starting with him as the reason why the Packers have failed to win SB's is ludicrous. Your stat is biblically flawed.

Makes sense. I've always called Kyle the Aaron Rodgers of coaches
