You can't be a bad coach and go to multiple SBs and NFCCs.

No coach is winning it all when they don't have the pieces in place.

Mike McCarthy coached in 4 NFC title games, won a Super bowl and won 12 games three straight years in Dallas. I think a lot would say he isn't a good coach or is overrated. You can be a great offensive coach and win a lot of games without being a good head coach.

You actually think it was mostly McCarthy that won on those teams. Before McCarthy was hired by those teams, he didn't have to build his rosters, only repair them. The most important piece to his offense was already on the team in Aaron Rodgers and Dak Prescott, so I wouldn't give McCarthy too much credit.

Does Shanahan get credit for Jimmy G even though he spend the 1st part of his career in NE?

Lol, you're really comparing Jimmy G, who only played in two games to a HOF QB and a Pro Bowl QB?

Of course you wouldn't cause that would destroy your narrative that Shanny is the only HC who can get to NFCCG's or SB's (don't forget that McCarthy actually won it).

Oh sorry Shanahan couldn't get hired by a team with a HOF QB and Pro Bowl QB already on the roster.

Please no one likes you.

Yes, Shanahan SHOULD get the credit. Just as O'Connell should get the credit for Sam Darnold.

Shanahan went to the Super Bowl with two different QB's and you say he's not a good coach? What other teams have done that since the year 2000?

I look at 19 like I look at the eagles 22 playoff run. It just wasn't impressive. It was awesome basically getting a free ride to the sb like Philly did, but I didn't come away from either of those runs like wow siriani and Kyle are such great coaches

Didn't feel that way in 23 either. I thought we went to the sb on the back of Campbells dumbass decisions and Brock's clutch play and scrambling

And McCarthy gets credit for Rodgers.
Now when I watched that Alex smith TD run followed by the Vernon post against the saints, I came away feeling like coaching won us that game. I haven't really felt that way with Kyle in the playoffs yet

Shanahan is a great play designer. With the right QB and skill players he can win a ton of games. And no one is perfect and everyone has weaknesses. We are now seeing Kyles. Can he win another 11+ games next year. Yes. If things end up more like this year its not going to go well. There is no middle ground with him.

More what? Players kids dying, players getting shot missing the whole off season, injuries to key players/starters and players quitting causing a distraction in the locker room? You mean those things?

It's simple. Kyle doesn't know how to close the deal.

if that's what you like well then enjoy. Kyle's your guy. You don't have to convince all of us out here that Kyle is something he's not. Just embrace your guy for what he is.

If players get hurt. If players hold out. If personal issues get in the way. If we get rid of Deebo and Ricky doesn't do anything. If the 49ers fail to address the OL. Could be anything. Mike Tomlin has been at lest a .500 coach every season. That isn't going to be Shanahan.

I mean if that makes you feel better than, yes you're right. But hold up a second, here's where the difference is, Aaron Rodgers has shown he can be successful without McCarthy. McCarthy hasn't really had the same success without Aaron Rodgers. Since McCarthy got to Dallas he's really only had two winning seasons. Where as Shanahan has shown he can have Super Bowl contending teams without an Aaron Rodgers or Dak Prescott.

Exactly, so why the fuss?
