Yeah I'd like to see this stat going back to 1960. Why start at 1991? We need more than 33 year sample size.

A lot of opportunities, but you can't say they won't do anything. They built two teams that went to the SB. When we're healthy and still looking bad is when I will start to worry

He wont let purdy run the option or give plays to cowing or pearsall because they do not know the full playbook.

Shanahan will never limit his playbook....

There's obvious veteran bias also which means if your liked you never come out even if you suck...

Having purdy scramble more on designed runs also won't happen. Outside scrambles and read option type plays aren't in the playbook. We saw with Jimmy and Lance all the designed QB runs are up the middle.

Fullback is a waste of money and juice really isn't doing anything. We run plays where the design is run the fullback on a deep route... You can guess how well those work.

All of the above could have been done this season even with the injuries...
In no way should we use Purdy on option runs or have him running more. Bootlegs are ok

Why? As Kyle has said..

"It's a pretty normal play. It's part of football, and it's unfortunately he hurt his ankle on it. But it's a very normal play. You guys should watch some other teams."
Why, because he isn't built like Lance… plus lance isn't smart enough to know he doesn't need to run every time an option is called

He doesn't have to choose to run it every time on the read option. Its literally just an option to keep or give to the rb.

He could still throw it out of the keep. It's basically a play action where purdy actually gets to see the free rusher instead of having his head down.

Since the dopes on the offensive line leave a guy free half the time you might as well do it intentionally and let purdy know where it's coming from...

Purdy is like the ideal QB to run the option also. Him having such a quick first step he's going to pretty much own the end every time.

He can also throw the ball unlike most of the option QBs...

I gotta give it to you ATT; you been working hard to defend everything this season. That one is pathetic, just keep it real lol. ATT is like the Lombardi of NT

i can see the benefit to that but i don't think it would be best right now. Like you mention the OL might force Purdy to keep it and run more if option is the play call and that's why i wouldn't put him in harms way.. not right now

there's always two sides.. I like the 70-10 side of things.. plus to act like we never made it to the playoffs this entire term is just nuts

The thing is its never an option with ks as coach. That's the point I'm trying to make. You have a bunch of things that could be done to gameplan and adjust, but there not even tried.

Instead it's throw your hands up, I guess we're a 6-11 team this year. Maybe we get luckier with our players a year older and hopefully less injured next year.

It's the same stubbornness that got harbaugh fired but that was after year 3. And the results were better with harbaugh.

There's literally no reason to be optimistic about it changing next year. It's year 9 and it's less creative with more talent then ever. The adjustments are worse than ever.

He actually would.. He always has a good argument for the O Line every year and it's actually good points with facts to follow.

He does have good takes though so I'm always interested in his posts most of the time. Yes he will reach but that is what you want in an attorney.

Hard to blame injuries on all 43 losses, huh ?

Some people will learn the hard way. Kyle looks like he is about to sink the same ship twice with 2 different captains but in the same manner. I wonder if ppl will give Brock the Jimmy label (just a mediocre QB) or will they finally acknowledge that Kyle is just not a good coach…

Is it some crazy concept that both Jimmy and Brock are average QBs that were elevated by a good system and teammates and that can only go so far?

Kyle can take heat for the GM side of his job when it comes to position. It's deserved. Pretending he's holding these players back is absurd.

Or maybe he's part of the problem. He had MVP Matt Ryan the year they lost the SB as well. Of course, you'll respond by saying Matt Ryan = Jimmy G.

I think it's more high draft pick low IQ. Basically if the draft pick is high your forced to play them whether or not they grasp the playbook. It's implemented because its simple and easy.

Being bigger and faster obviously helps, however, I would argue quicker is more valuable than faster or big. You only have to beat the one guy off the end.

You have to be extremely quick for two steps so the end running at full speed gets juked. Unless your ends bosa who literally falls for it every time and tackles the wrong guy.

It's part of the playbook you should use no matter what unless your QB is slow as hell. Ie I wouldn't run it with Jimmy, or rothlisberger, or manning. Any of the guys who are just big and slow.

We just don't do it because reasons...

Matt Ryan was a good, but not elite, QB who had one of the greatest seasons of all time with Kyle.

I blame the Falcons defense more than their offense for losing that SB. That fantastic offense was the only reason they had the success they had that season. Did they make mistakes in the SB… of course they did.
