Yup. And I believe we were top two in offense up to what week eight or nine? With all those injuries and the offensive line playing sub par in run blocking and especially pass blocking?

I see your point that Kyle's offense is not trash. My thought is that Kyle's record in making comebacks, and his record of holding on to leads, Is trash, and really better than absolutely nobody. I don't think he has a feel for how other teams will react and change when they become desperate, especially in big games, and he doesn't know how to anticipate and counter that. His weakness is not his offense. His weakness imo is that he runs his offense and doesn't make adjustments on the fly well and he's not a head coach in really every way other than creating an offense.

In game adjustments seem to be his weakness. That's where another offensive assistant might be of some help.
One of my problems with Kyle is his inability to use certain players/positions and over use of others. If you are a RB or TE that is not a great blocker then expect zero play all because he has to have you stay in and block because the line he built sucks. Last week was a prime example as only Taylor played RB and he cant run or catch so I can assume he was the best blocking talent. Certain players at some positions get in his dog house yet he watches film every week and continues to run out players like Brendel who suck game in game out.

I'm sure there some things that could be adjusted, but not sure it's with the scheme. Guys are still open. Run game? Defenses know to just blow up the interior.

The only adjustments i see is OL personnel. Injuries took a toll and there's no starters that we can just grab that's available. It's abnormal year and just need to play with the cards we are dealt with.

Does an offensive Genius need a stacked team of weapons to score only 10pts through 3 QTRs? What made the Chiefs defense considered the best? A bunch of talent, like our offense, or because some key players and f'n Spaggs!

My God I can't believe some of you forgot the feeling you had during and after the game. How many of you have the balls to watch the game again? Many of yall run when s**t gets bad... to stay in denial. I'll watch the condensed version again in a bit, to get another reminder of how overrated Kyle is as a genius.

Chicken or the egg argument.

Also, it was one game. Regular season with major injuries on offense at that point.

Walsh lost a playoff game 49-3 once. By the logic highlighted above he was not an offensive genius.

Neither one of us believes he's going to listen to that guy in game when he's looking at his play sheet. He's run something to run something else, and he's gonna run it.

Wait I know you were talking about perception around the league but do even KyleOnly Fans still feel he is an "offensive GENIUS!!"????

9moon is that you?

I'm saying he had the best most versatile running back in the league in CMC, Aiyuk, Kittle, Deebo, Jennings all on offense for the Super Bowl.. and he couldn't find a way to draw up the plays of his life in the most important game of his life to just get us some first downs to finish off the game... to not have some type of exciting stressful finish. You would think a genius with ALL THOSE WEAPONS would be able to do that.

But with those weapons we only scored 10pts through by the 4th QTR.. going scoreless in the 1st and 3rd qtrs.

I mean I would understand if that was a one off weird situation where you could give him the benefit of the doubt... but he has done that on numerous scenarios before that Super Bowl loss.
Now you're just talking out the ass and need for attention

KC defense wasn't just some turnstile defense and it's not like we're down the entire game.

you also forget that we had no Kittle, Deebo, Feliciano (this one hurt us the most), Greenlaw for most of the second half.

Turnovers is what cost us

That's what you take out of that? Does the truth hurt you THAT much?

Out of 75 snaps...

Kittle had 63 snaps.. 84%...second only to Aiyuk 67 snaps (89%)... Deebo 72% and yes Deebo & Kittle played in the 4th QTR.

Eitherway Kyle still had CMC, Aiyuk, Jennings, Juice to be creative just to get us 10 yards... to get us some 1st downs to run the clock. I'm not even asking for a bunch of points.. just put the f**king game away!

Also... Jordan Mason... 0..... f**kING ZERO SNAPS the whole game
What truth?

you ignore the injuries to Kittle and Deebo, both compromised and just decoys

we were playing the best defense in the NFL, being down major key pieces that got us there will make it harder to do anything. Yet we still got into a position to score a td, but back up Buford stopped that from happening to a wide open Aiyuk

Kyle, twice now, had the lead nearly the entire game, so it's not like we just got outplayed from the jump like you make it seem.

This all started because some of you still consider Kyle is an offensive Genius... even though he has shown us many times he makes idiotic decsions.

Afrikan,

Salutations. I would like to take this discussion a different angle. Every great coach has had at least some great players. See the original "genius", Bill Walsh who had both all time great players and players that fit his scheme greatly, which led to great success for both the players and Walsh alike.

And I agree, we throw around terms such as great or genius too much. But great coaches also make mistakes. Again, see the aforementioned Bill Walsh. And coaches, of all qualities, will not maximize their players at all times. That Kyle has failed to always maximize his available talent makes him human. That he fails makes him human.

I think Kyle has to do more work to be great, and i suspect he realizes that. But to suggest he is not a "gifted" play caller or that there is no potential for future growth for him or that he will learn from it is a mistake.

Fortunately, none of us are privy to when it will happen or it won't. If we knew, would we still care?

Lastly, a sense of urgency from the fan base for the sake of just having one after the Super Bowl is akin to living panicked.

While you might disagree. By all accounts we have:

Great Coach, though flawed

Great GM

A potential "Franchise Quarterback" who is only getting better

Key players that, though, they may be getting older can help the next run at the Super Bowl.

We will have, I reckon a higher draft pick then we have had for a while.

We will get younger and faster

We will lose some players that are not panning out

The team will be rested for the first time in years.

We tend to do well in bounce back years.

And, we have the best traveling fan base in the NFL who will be ready to lose their minds each and every week.

In short with Kyle, we will be fine.

Happy Holidays,

Fro

I hear ya, but my problem is if I saw a solution in sight I would be calm and understanding. But with Kyle, what makes him human, is probably the worse thing you want in a Head Coach. He doesn't learn from his mistakes... he doesn't want to learn from his mistakes... he rarely admits mistakes. And he answers to no one. That fact that he felft comfortable to show up to Super Bowl week..with/in front of our players.. in front of the media.. drunk, shows he has no respect or fear for being called out or disciplined. And that kind of mentality, untouchable genius, carries itself back to his coaching style and decsions. The fact that he selfishly made a decision in OT that went against EVERY coach (college) before him in a similar scenario shows delusional arrogance. Against Pat Mahomes and Andy Reid of all opponents. Giving them four downs. Instead of giving us and our weapons four downs to control how the game ended. Or maybe he just didn't know/forgot the rules himself, and made up s**t in the post game presser. And of course there are a bunch more issues that Kyle just doesn't learn from, or apparently just can't handle as a Head Coach.

Again I've said it before... Kyle is like a bad relationship. In bad relationships after big incidents, it doesn't get better... it will only get worse. His personality hasn't shown that it can or wants to grow. (So even if we improve the Oline, improve personal he will still find away to trip over himself with his coaching decisions in the end) He is set in his ways. Jaded... traumatized from the past.

But yes Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone. And yes including Kyle.

I will say, since he has been here it does seem like if the run game isn't working in a game the offense does tend to look out of sorts. It has happened with every QB he has had and different personnel. So I wouldn't say it's dependent on the pieces per se. I would say it depends on game flow. If the run game isn't working, I generally don't like his play calling.
