49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

Back to back years where the Head Coach fires the defensive coordinator.

If we don't have a good record this upcoming season... does that mean Kyle will fire the DC again? Or will he be forced to keep his next hire no matter what.

Could be awkward.

It Would be hilarious if Kyle sacks a third Defensive Co-Ordinator at the end of next year.

At which time does Kyle ever look in a mirror?

Worry about that if and when it happens otherwise soap operas are always on during the weekdays to keep you entertained lol

Ill give you the tip.

If you sack a Defensive Co-Ordinator and a Special Teams Co-Ordinator in subsequent days; you ARE a soap opera.

Went to a Super Bowl with one of the DC's he fired. Obviously it was Wilks who was the problem. Did you think Sorensen warranted another season?
But Kyle had two picks at DC in a row that lasted a year.

Do you think that is a good success rate?

That means absolutely nothing!!! And FWIW Sorensen wasn't even his first or second choice, but more of a fall back plan.

He was a victim of his own hiring success when he had to replace his first two hires. He missed on both Wilks and Sorenson, but will have a larger pool to choose from given the timing this time.

They need an influx of talent and health as well, because the defense this past season had probably 3 reliably good players, a few young players that flashed, and a lot more holes than we've had in previous years.
You get only so many chances.

Kyle is walking the type rope.

Kyle Shanahan's record with the San Francisco 49ers when trailing in the 4th quarter has been notably poor. Here's a breakdown based on available information:

  • When his team is trailing by 3 or more points entering the 4th quarter, Shanahan's record is 1-31.

  • When his team is trailing by 8 or more points entering the 4th quarter, his record is 0-37.

These statistics highlight a consistent challenge for Shanahan's teams when it comes to mounting comebacks in the final quarter of games.

The main reason a team has a poor record in the fourth quarter is because they have been doing poorly in the previous three quarters. Duh

Just to add, I believe we're 4th in cumulative point differential overall among all teams from 2017 until now.

That's pretty good.

A biggish one but it gets smaller the more he walks it.

yeah this really might be one of the more important hires he's had to make. He has to get this right.
