Again, these are just opinions. It's an opinion game. Tbh, I could say some of the stuff you guys write is pretty basic as well.
Looking at the QBs in the NFL today.
My personal QB rankings (QBs within tiers are not ordered)... not a fully comprehensive list especially towards the bottom where the backups and the starters who are on the verge of getting benched are located...
GOAT Hunting - Mahomes (he's not the GOAT if he retires today, but based on his current trajectory he will overtake Brady in about 5 years)
Future Hall of Famers in their Primes - Lamar, Burrow, Allen (they've recently won MVPs and/or are perennial threats to win MVP in any given year. When their careers are over they're assured spots in Canton)
Elite - Stafford (unlikely to win MVP but could if things line up properly)
Franchise QB and not having as good a season as previous but desiring larger sample size/consistency - Jayden, Herbert, Stroud, Love, Purdy, Hurts (these guys have put together strings of play that matches the best of the best, but said string has been only for about 1 year and/or have had too many strings of bad play mixed in. Want to see multiple years of consistent elite play before they get moved up, or else they're moving down. This tier is best seen as a "placeholder" tier.)
Franchise QB - Goff, Baker (not super elite, but can more than hold their own if given some support)
Promising - Maye, Nix (rookies with intriguing starts to their careers, worth continuing to roll the dice with them)
Purgatory - Dak, Tua, Murray, Lawrence (Too good to move off of, not good enough to be Elite)
Don't Abandon Yet - Caleb, McCarthy, Penix, Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson (young QBs who have no/limited playing time or have had great struggles, but mixed in enough upside to continue the dice roll for at least another year)
The Alex Smith Line - Geno, Carr, Darnold (Can hold the fort provided you have enough support around them, but you'll want to look out for upgrades now)
On their Last Legs - Russell Wilson, Fields, Pickett, Rodgers, Cousins, Levis, Howell, O'Connell (These guys will probably see play one way or another and most of these guys will get one more shot at gaining/keeping the starter position, but I doubt they'll get better)
Good backups - Minshew, Dobbs, Brissett, Dalton, Mullens, Jake Browning, Jimmy G (if they're your backup you feel good, if they're your starter you're in trouble)
Not even Backup Material - Daniel Jones, Ridder, Zach wilson, Zappe, Mac Jones, Watson (These guys will be out of the league soon, but those drafted high/have expensive contracts will probably float around the league for 5-10 years)
