yup, that's the other end of the extreme. just looking at our own team history, we punted an excellent coach for a gym teacher and that landed us kyle in fairly short order.

Well it could be Singletary, or Chip Kelly too. Maybe a really good coach with a challenging personality that we'll have to blow up regardless of results.

One things for certain: our track record with hires and the hiring process is very promising.

i'm not advocating coaching change, nor do i think in absolutes, like it 'will work everytime'.

there is only 1 Jimmy and Denny, but there are HCs out there that did just the same as them for other teams

That's not an excuse to keep around a coach who keeps failing. How long are you willing to give Shanahan ? There are SB winning coaches that have had a shorter leash than he has. Is the fear that we might lose out on a coach that can't win the SB and end up with a coach that can't win the SB that real ? Won't know until we try.

but anyways. Seems like Kyle is digging his own grave. We're basically one Staley / Sorenson hire away from showing him the door next offseason. He can do us a favor and take those guys with him to Cleveland or Chicago or wherever he ends up…

i'm not doing your tribalism. i can agree with a person on a point of fact or opinion, and not subscribe to all of their beliefs. kyle is a darn good coach, now he's not perfect or right on everything. i see the good and bad. overall he would rank highly in the ranks of coaching.

Not being able to find a better replacement because you aren't equipped to do it and because they aren't available is a good reason to keep your most valuable asset.
