you would think.. Watching how all these other coaches and players making mistakes realize how hard it is to win in the playoffs, let alone do it without a number 1 drafted QB

We are the Most boring and predictable offense in the league. Just play man and an extra one in the box and you beat this offense.

If Purdy gets his big contract ...what happens when Shanahan gets fired and his replacement can't use a QB that can't throw the ball with any velocity for more than 25 yards?

I'll throw Matt Schaub in there as well. He was even better in year 2 than year 1 with Kyle.

Totally agree. This is why the guys who aren't working on their craft have their high point in their rookie year and just never get better.

Taking a worse coach in HOPES they will get better, because that is exactly what you are doing, is how teams crumble. The risk you want to take, more often than not, doesn't work. If you have a winning coach, chances are you get worse by firing them. This is what the history of the NFL has shown. What you are asking for is insanity.

You could also argue that John and Jim Harbaugh should be fired based off of your reasoning. They are literally making the same mistakes. You could argue that Mike Tomlin should be fired. He is making the same mistakes. Who are you replacing the Harbaugh brothers, Kyle Shanahan, and Mike Tomlin with?

I would literally swap shanahan for any of those coaches right now in a heartbeat.

Jim is unproven he's been coaching 1 year on this stint.

Johns problem is he has Lamar who is choker. The same problem as the cowboys with dak.

Tomlin hasn't had a good QB since rothlisberger and just keeps making due. Id probably make him redo his whole drafting department.

Media has been talking about Tomlin potentially being fired.

You can't just stick with above average and never risk changing coaches. Shanahan is actually probably worth 2 1st round picks and seconds right now. Next year if he doesn't go 9-8 he's going to get fired and be worth nothing.

The argument that there's no one better is like the same argument that purdy sucks because he was the last pick in the draft. Before these dudes were elite they were nobodies. Same applies for coaching. You have to take some risk on some upside or just get stuck in perpetual almost winning a SB.

You think there's just going to be a coach that is young and not have a team right now. It's not like we can just swap shanahan for Andy Reid or mcvay.

Some risk will always be involved.

This year has been absolutely putrid. So many blown games against ordinary opposition... You are your record - and we are that crap.
