I am 100% on board that Brock is our guy. I believe in him moving forward. But f**k this hurts to see man...
When numbers appear to be similar, what's your next step when doing a comparison?
Comparing Someone's 8th year in the league vs someone's 3rd is moronic. Especially when you have to use one of the persons best seasons vs the others worst. Straight up retarded

Numbers are numbers.
Brock has to pull up his socks this year especially if he gets $50M+
A lot of things need to go right this offseason. Basically, a soft rebuild tbh.
Brock can not put them team on his back with mediocre talent surrounding him. He isn't that guy.

Its pretty simple - Ws.
The season has been a disappointment overall but I'm still enthusiastic that we have a franchise QB going forward. Excited to watch the kid win big games year after year when they resolve the injuries and defense issues holding the team back.
I am Not happy with the Purdy picks this season. He makes the same mistakes over and over again.
Most of his interceptions were him throwing high, which I likely believe he is compensating for earlier in the season when many of his passes were batted down.
Purdy knows his arm strength is only ordinary and so he is prone to overthrow longer passes and when the secondary sit back, it often looks like an interception he throws is actually a pass to the opposition safety rather than our WR.
Give Purdy a better O Line.
We are all screaming for it.
So after raw numbers with no context for a quarterback, you go to wins. Interesting.

Mahomes wins games when he plays badly. That is a prerequisite for success. All the great quarterbacks do that. Jimmy at his best could also do that.

Feeling. I had zero faith in Jimmy G late in that 2021 season...I mean that last regular season Rams game, he went out of his way to try to kill us. But luckily our defense kept giving him more chances. Jimmy should have had the confidence (because of our defense) to play it smart and help us win those games comfortably.
This season, Brock didn't have that kind of defense. And imo he pressed and tried to do too much. And of course didn't have his weapons, that Jimmy had. That being said I'm not being in denial about some other issues he showed this year, but I don't feel he was as bad as Jimmy was that season...even if they had similar stats.
Now before someone brings up my 2014 Kap's stats that were similar to Brock's 2024... I will say I would rather have Deebo, Pearsall, Jennings, and Kittle... over two slow possession WRs in Crabtree, Boldin (who I love), and Davis (who I also love). And of course as annoying as Kyle can be, still Kyle >>>>>>>>>> Roman.

What happens if Brock doesn't have that type of defense next season? Or ever again.
I mean its on Brock. And when it's on Brock, he presses, and his deficiencies are there for everyone to see.
