If you have the Eagles Oline, yeah can run at will and close a game out. If you dont, it isn't that simple. But I do think we should be trying to get there. Especially when you have a guy that has gotten worse every year he has started.

We arent outmatched as a team. We are outmatched in critical moments. We've seen a lot of playoff failures as 49ers fans. Untik very recently, we just get beaten to a pulp or the team is just flat out better than us. The Harbaugh and Shanahan 49ers have brought in a different type of failure.

In the case of the current regime, to be ahead and the lead just slowly whithers away. I'm not saying we are outmatched as a whole. It's more of one of their team's strongest players just takes over against one of our weakest (interior verses interior). Frustrating to watch it.

I say its more to do with continuity.

hopefully we can see Purdy add another good 3 seasons in the scheme and be able to account for where are the Chris jones type players are lined up at and exhaust the playbook front to back

After watching Kyle Shanahan and Andy Reid coach over the past 8 years, I wonder how many super bowls the 49ers would have won with Reid as HC? As good as Shanahan is in certain ways, Andy Reid is a complete head coach in all three phases of the game. I think he is also more creative with offensive play calling at critical junctures in the game, especially on 3rd downs in the 4th quarter. He always seems to dial up the right play when it counts. In addition, Kansas City is a much more disciplined team than the 49ers. They went 8 straight games without a turnover, and they don't seem to have the amount of crucial penalties the 49ers have. Another thing that will always stand out about Reid over Shanahan is his evaluation of QB's in the 2017 draft. Reid moved up in the 1st round to draft Patrick Mahomes; Shanahan didn't even bother to check him out, thinking C.J. Beathard was the only QB worth drafting that year. What a franchise altering evaluation turned out to be for the Chiefs! I hope we get back on track this season, and Saleh can help turn around the defense.

Kyle is a good top 10 coach, and 49ers fans love Kyle, but most everything in this post is true. As of now, Reid is significantly better.
True, Reid was like Kyle his first 10 years, but right now he is superior as mentioned in this post. Hopefully Kyle will gain some humility and be more open-minded and become a better coach and leader like Reid has evolved into.

Shanahan is very smart and knowledgeable, but he also is arrogant, stubborn, and close-minded ... hopefully that will change and he will evolve as he is humbled
* Kyle sucks at drafting - check out the results in the first 3 rounds since he's taken over 9ers had 19 picks in the first 3 rounds and 15/19 (~80%) were bust and only 3/19 hits
* Kyle has choked often; repeatedly blowing 4th Q leads
* Kyle is negligent with special teams
* Kyle tends to hire his friends, nepotism generally causes lower quality
* Kyle does have a poorly disciplined team - too many penalties
* Kyle is stubbornly non creative when things go wrong, for example he almost never goes for it on 4th down - like see the playoff games today they went on 4th and short every time
* Kyle rarely does a fake punt or FG

This next year will be a good test to see if Kyle can evolve his offense since the league has caught up with him

Shanahan and McDermott are the offensive and defensive version of the same coach

McDermott has atleast beaten the Chiefs in the regular season, Kyle hasn't.

It was a gamble. Had he lost the gamble, the Webzone would have been awash with abuse. But he won the bet, and you owe him respect for going for it. Had he not tried for him and instead settled for a safe second choice, the Webzone would have again have been awash with abuse. So there you are. Why not enjoy it when the breaks go our way rather than trying to read it negative?

Honestly, it's no different than all those 4th down go for it ideas people have. If it works you are a genius. If it fails you are a fool. Right now, Kyle is a genius.
