Why not? McVay, the genius he is, got held to 3 in one Super Bowl. In the other, he had all but lost until the yellow flags came out. Belichick had Tom Brady.. when he didn't have Tom Brady, we see what he has done. Switch out Brady, Stafford, and even Goff( say what you will but he's taken two squads to NFCCGs) for Jimmy Garoppolo, a guy who couldn't hold a starting job a full season, and see how far Belichick and McVay get.

the distinction i see is mcvay saw what he had in goff and made a bold move and got a playmaker QB and won a ring. our best QBs are brock and jimmy. stafford is/was a lot better.

Ignoring Kyle used three 1sts to trade up for a potential franchise QB who ended up being a bust. But he did recognize what he had in Jimmy G and made a bold move to try and get a playmaker at QB.

yeah it's a question if you want to applaud bad moves that don't work or good ones that do work.

I applaud recognizing a weakness and attempting to fix it. I'll take that over ignoring the weakness

imo he went right back to ignoring.

Yeah that's your opinion

explain how you disagree. do you see radical unpredictable bold QB moves in the offseason? we're just gonna pay brock and sign someone like flacco to back it up. we have a game manager and we aren't attempting to get a game changer. we are deadset on paying the game manager top of market dollars. which we did before, right?

No what we did before is paid an average QB with limited upside high dollars. Now they are going to pay a guy who's shown he can play at a super high level.

Brock and Jimmy or any of the other mediocre QBs you champion aren't the same. Everyone seems to understand that but you.

What would you do? Tank for the next season or 2 and hope to be in position to get Archie Manning? And hope he's not just living off his namesake?

i'd probably look for a QB who can either be a designed part of our run game or a downfield passer or both. i think that fits what we do here, which is mainly run the football.

Okay so you'd do what Kyle did with drafting Lance. Hopefully you'd get lucky and get a 7th rounder to keep your team competitive after that debacle.

it was a dumb move, the only aspect that was interesting was he's a more of a game changer (at least he was billed as such).

So edgy calling it a dumb move knowing the results. So who's your Purdy replacement since you don't want him here? I can keep tabs on him for you don't worry I'll gladly remind you.

i didn't like it then. i liked staying at 12. once we traded up, i would have taken fields over lance and wilson. i thought it was a lil comical that fields was dominating the college game, and guys like wilson were making a throw at pro day, and moving ahead. lance i just never understood the thesis. it baffles me to this day. he's like a lower division less accomplished tim tebow

No disagreement here from me. I was team Fields all the way. But seeing how he turned out it would seem as though there was no correct player to draft in that hyped best QB draft class. So what QB you want in here now that will be able to beat out Purdy and make the team better this year?

i don't think there's any beating out purdy. there is no competition. kyle has said it. he's QB1 for life he said. something along those lines. i question that from coach. that can't help paarag in negotiations. it just is what it is man. i think we pay brock a ton, and we clear the deck, meaning no meaningful QB on roster otherwise. i'd just like to see a truly dynamic game changer at QB in the kyle offense. it's been 8 years and perhaps the closest we got to that was josh dobbs. brutal.
