49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

Also, too many mistakes by the FO..one minute they seem sharp..next minute they look like Dumb and Dumber, foolish. Hopefully, they turn it around but rn, I feel like Shanny will win it with another team. Who knows.

I don't think Shanny will win it like....ever.

The Juice fiasco is the proof (to me) that Shanny is only a system coach that will never ever adjust and reinvent himself and I think about Jon Gruden that also was a system coach that never adapted but at least he did win a ring. After all since mid-2022 CMC had been masking the lack of new ideas by Shanahan and last year when he was out we all realized that we are seeing the same offense since......forever.

I'm affraid that we've already watched Shanny's best days in the NFL.

The result of a football game is a culmination of 4 quarters of plays by 3 aspects of the team (offense, defense, ST).

At the end of the day, the team that executes the best and protects the ball, usually wins. I agree with Smokey that a majority of the games outcome is execution but coaching is also a major factor too. It takes two to tango.

I love having Kyle. He isn't perfect but he's an awesome coach who is still young. I feel fortunate we got him and hope we have him another 20 years.

20?? Without a SB win?

It's already been 30+ years since our last win. What's another 20?

I mean by then all the old timers that have witnessed actual championships by this team will probably be all dead by then so who cares if we're just playing for participation trophies...getting close is just as awesome for many here.

IT didn't really take this long for you all to learn that, did it ??

Kyle needs to stay out of player negotiations and stick to coaching them.

We all have opinions but unless you can see the future it's just that. Bringing back Juice doesn't show anything IMO. Juice has a lot of experience and is a versatile weapon that may be needed in an offense waiting for Aiyuk to get back(assuming he's not traded by April 1st)

My biggest concern with Kyle is how we do our protections. Teams have started using our rules to get pressure on us too consistently and leave our guys blocking air. IMO that's the thing that critical for Kyle to get ahead of this offseason...why I hope he gives Brock more control at the line.

Either way we'll see what happens soon enough.

This. These narratives are getting very tired and unless anyone making those claims wants to provide ANY post of someone making that type of claim I'm going to start treating those as spam.

So what you guys are saying is Kyle can come up with an offense that is copied around the league but according to you two offensive minded scholars he's unable to adjust and will never be anything else.

Got it.

I swear these guys either don't watch the games or don't know what they are looking at.

Our offense changed last year, more shotgun, less under center, less motions, less play action. Which imo wasn't a good thing.

Every coach has a system they like. Coaches aren't changing their offensive philosophy every other year. They draft players that they think will fit their system. They can'y just make big changes without bringing in different personnel.

For example some teams like to throw deep sideline patterns more than others so they draft bigger, faster WRs. Others prefer smaller quicker guys that run good routes so they can hit the short underneath stuff.

The roster is still relatively stacked. No reason they can't be contenders right away again.
Missouri QB, Brady Cook might either go undrafted or be there in the 7th, but I can see Shanny getting itchy/nervous, snags him in the 4th. He balls out in camp/preseason, takes BP's job late in the season, walks around the locker room in Ariats after SB and the rest is history

We have a lot of good pieces but there are some glaring holes that we will be relying on rookies to make impacts.

-We have Bosa on the Dline. And that's it.
-We have one linebacker in Warner unless Winters steps up.
-Burford or Bartch at LG? I don't like that.
-Brendel at center is awful.
-Who's the 3rd CB?
-Can Brown not be a massive liability in the run game?
-Will Pearsall step up and be a #1 to replace Aiuyk?
-Will CMC and Williams stay healthy?

That is an awful lot of question marks for a contending team.

I don't think Shanahan has let Garappolo or Purdy audible once. At least I can never remember one.

Run the play as called and don't go off script. It's what he wants and he will never change.
