Hiring a guy from hockey to train nfl athletes. Yeah that should work out great.

I doubt he will do much training. I think his role is to use sports science and analytics to prevent training from leading to injuries and training as injury-prevention.

They need to give the players roids like the Patriots do.

If you had taken the time to read of his background you would have seen he has experience in a number of other sports. That translates well.

So is this like when the Browns hired some baseball guys into their front office

His background prior to working with the Flyers:

Working with the players and performance coaches of elite teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL, and NCAA Division I. I help teams identify and evaluate contextual analytics by measuring training volumes, (accelerations, decelerations, change of direction speeds, biomechanical and physiological load quantifications), in real time, to improve performance outcomes and reduce soft tissue injuries of athletes.

Sounds like he'll be setting the philosophy for the training and sports science program while yet to be hired strength and conditioning coaches do the hands on work.

His specialty has been decreasing injury frequency and improving injury outcomes so thus far he sounds exactly like what this team needs. He's worked with the Flyers, the NHL, the U.S..Olympic team, various NFL, NBA and MLB teams in a consulting role. Pretty impressive background.

There is all kinds of science in S & C, but the summary above is the kind of science we want. Lots of ways to do this and as we have seen, unuseful ways and then the above. We want the above.
well hopefully he'll give the players some PEDs. Otherwise, I'm not sure when we'll ever see improvement on the injury front.

robitussin fixes everything... I don't know why they just didnt rub some of this on Jimmy's Acl area, he would've been good to go the rest of the season.

All the players can avoid random testing by simply informing the testers that Eric Reid is visiting and in the building that day.

Didn't chip Kelly bring in the "newest latest and greatest high tech" nutrition and sleep and workouts to the 49ers too?

We need our IR to go back to the mean, but even at the mean, with your QB out, it wouldn't matter if you were at mean.

I think Kelly used a lot more stuff when he was in Philly, including the GPS. It might be that Uyeyama had his own program and Kelly deferred. TBH the urine testing probably would've been a useful data point.

Yeah, he was the Smoothie King. After Vernon Davis, of course.
