Defense played exceptionally well yesterday. People like to dump on Saleh, but our defense is the least of our issues....especially when you factor in the injuries.

I liked him rotating the safeties. It seemed that Moore would play Free and Ward would play Strong in passing situations and he would bring in Harris in running situations. Harris played the 3rd Linebacker as well and #51 was off the field on defense. The Corners are playing really well and #47 held his own against the great Michael Thomas. They are doing their best on the D- line. The Defense is playing well. Kamera was killing Greenlaw is coverage and then they adjusted and put Warner on him and that was that.

They need to stick with the new rotation they did with the safeties plus Harris at SLB yesterday, it worked pretty well. Held a pass heavy Saints to less than 125 passing yards, I know Brees was out in the 2nd half but it's not like he lit it up in the 1st half. Also, credit JV and EM for holding one of the best WR in the league to 2 catches for 27 yards. Great job by our secondary yesterday.
I read Shanahan saying that it was something they wanted to try out due to the safeties skills and to get Moore playing time and to maximize speed. Sounds like they are sticking with it going forward. All 3 Corners are playing well. This guy #47 Taylor in the slot is really starting to catch my eye.

I think that's more damning for KS.

It is! I think Saleh has done a really nice job this year. I agree he's not big on adjustments off script esp. with a WR that's dominating but that's within my realm of normal expectations. Kyle? Not so much. He's been way off all year.

Been very odd. I'm just writing off this whole year lol

Yeah, upside down, left is right, right is left, etc. f**k 2020.
Saleh has done a hell of a job this year. This isn't the Seattle-style defense anymore. Saleh has literally fabricated his own quarters, wide-9 defense.

Kyle is secretly tanking since he knows his chances of winning a super bowl decreased dramatically once we lost Bosa.

Agreed, especially considering all the Injuries he's had to deal with this season.

Hard to make adjustments when the practice squad players barely know the limited playbook of the install for the week. This is a lack of reps for the guys playing issue more than it is a coaching issue.

I don't know what triggered Saleh's shift to incorporate more Quarters into the scheme. It came in 2019, and is more prevalent this season. It was something that had to be done with ARI in the division, but also as the league has shifted to more spread looks. I'm actually surprised that the #1 team on that list is using Quarters only 21% of the time. I would have guessed it be closer towards 25-33%, but that's just from my limited watching of the league.
5th in yards, 10th in points with a slew of injuries. And people still think him and the d are the weak link.

I tend to think the backup QB, third string rb, backup wrs and TEs, and guard playing center.... those are the weak links.

Probably just me though.

D is playing lights out.... but without a legit pass rush we won't be able to take over a game like we did last year
Where do we get one of these?

I've been watching Steeler games because their pass rush is absolutely filthy. They're as good if not better than our group last year. All 4 guys are studs, especially the two beasts inside(Stephen Tuitt and Cam Heyward).

Draft pass rushers every single year. EVERY YEAR.

Have a few and the current guys will go up with the addition of the IR guy(s). People seem to forget the difference between this D pre ERs and then with ERs

Bosa is on IR and Kinlaw is developing.
