Remember in 2017 we had expansion level roster. The fact we weren't last in defense was a miracle

I bet Bosa and Warner are excited. This is really what the team needed. Someone who can run the defense and Kyle can focus on the offense. It felt like Kyle had way too much on his plate the last two years. You shouldn't have to tell your DC we don't run cover 0 blitz on the last play of the half (Min game). We don't play 10 yards off the line in the final minutes of the SB (Kyle had to call timeout after Mahomes completed 3-4 quick passes in a row). With Nick being a first timer you know he had to help him through growing pains, especially game planning. Could explain why Kyle's play calling was less creative than in years past.

I like it. This was the safe pick. There is a small part of me that wanted something new, maybe someone who can coach/teach these player to blitz properly but if he can get this defense anywhere near where it was when he left, then we will be in good shape.
