DT/DE are positions throughout history where rookies CAN step in and have success. We've seen it for years and years

If you get the right one, absolutely. Remember during Bosa's rookie year when Kittle was on the sideline, telling Shanahan that he drafted a cheat code?

Let's hope we do. Solomon Thomas sucked, I believe in part because the niners played him out of position. Then kinlaw was terrible

Any position on defense can contribute year one, not just DE/DT
Remember Ronnie Lott and Eric Wright and Dwight Hicks = Superbowl winners in their rookie years
2023 Chiefs had several defensive rookies starting and won the superbowl

49ers need to stock up on defense in the draft
expectations year 1 with Experienced Saleh guys ?

Flush this season and take advantage of that #11 pick. Fortify the OL and DL with the draft, get our players mended and we should be contending again. Everything happens for a reason, it's just unfortunate we all had to suffer through this year.

I think you need to also give some credit to Andy Reid and the WASP playcall on 3rd & long.

It was Lott, Wright and Williamson who were rookies. Hicks had been there a couple yrs. Your point still stands though.

Should have kept a guy on Hill on that, just like you needed a guy to spy Mahomes in OT

One future HOF player and one that might have been if he hadn't had that injury that messed up the last few years of his career. Wright was a lock down corner in his early years.

And wasn't DJ Jones drafted in the 6th round? We need to have some big immovable dude in the middle that can be disruptive. Not sure if we're going to sign Hargrave after cutting him after June.

Wasn't the Rams defense really young? It seemed they got better as the year went along and were good towards the end of the season
