We had a couple stops. And then a yellow flag was thrown.
Unnecessary roughness is so annoying when it's like that

yup and without that block punt I'd think the defense would've had them shutout the 1st half and parts of the 3rd. The offense sucked today at sustaining drives. We were 0-6 on 3rd down at one point in the game.
D played solid. Only so much they can do before they become exhausted.

Them too. D of course gives up a FG to end the half going prevent Saleh- special (difference in the game), gives up the winning TD at the end Saleh-special, Hopkins ran free all game for 150, tackling was horrendous, Kwon is dumb af, untimely dumb penalties bailed their offense out constantly (not all their fault), soft zones and Kyler, literally, ran at will through our 40 first round DL picks. We got Kinlaw to help with the run defense and they gave up 190 on the ground.
I'd give the edge to the offense being worse for sure but the D was terrible too esp. with all that talent/resources so I'm an equal critic here. LOL

On a positive note.
Aldon Smith, have a night. He has 10 tackles and just registered his first sack since 2015.

I never understand why our CBs gives 7-10 yard cushions on 3rd and 5-10 and then backpedals when the ball snaps. Frustrates the sh!t outta me all the time.

Such simple pitch and catch. Meanwhile you saw them challenge everything including the 4th down. If that was our D, TT would have had a 5 yard cushion there.

a better job than Kinlaw subbing... the middle of the line was either being pushed or washed... The Cards were able to move the DT's wherever they wanted.

The defense didn't play bad. It was just Murray making plays. There really is no way to stop that stuff unless you can get him trapped in the backfield and that's not easy. He's short and fast and seems to be able to squirt thru a tiny opening. Every defensive coordinator hates these guys because you have to plan to stop plays and when the play is stopped and guys like Murray take off there really isn't a plan. Once he gets past the D line all the other defenders are occupied with their assignment.
They gave up 24 points. Seven came on a drive aided by more than 30 yards in penalties. If the Niners score on that play from the one yard line we win. If they don't get that punt blocked, we probably win with a late FG. If Jimmy connects on a couple of passes where the receiver was open deep, we win. It really was all about the offense not scoring when they had opportunities. The only thing the defense couldn't stop was Murray's runs and Hopkins.

Agree, not bad but they miss Buckner big time. I hope Kinlaw develops fast, he had a bad game with some bright spots.

Terrible? Hmm. I don't think it's even close as to which side of the ball played worse. JG and the offense were awful

How do you give up 190 yards rushing, both crucial points at the ends and 150 yards to their star receiver and say it was a good performance? They couldn't tackle at all either + blown coverage. This is the unit we absolutely should have higher standards for plus it was 10 of the 11 returning. No excuses. No need for semantics. The entire team played like royal ass.

Oddly enough, I couldn't believe how much Greenlaw played at SAM. Did T.Moore even play? You'd think it would be reversed for this matchup.
