Seemed to me the offense is what botched this game
Them too. D of course gives up a FG to end the half going prevent Saleh- special (difference in the game), gives up the winning TD at the end Saleh-special, Hopkins ran free all game for 150, tackling was horrendous, Kwon is dumb af, untimely dumb penalties bailed their offense out constantly (not all their fault), soft zones and Kyler, literally, ran at will through our 40 first round DL picks. We got Kinlaw to help with the run defense and they gave up 190 on the ground.
I'd give the edge to the offense being worse for sure but the D was terrible too esp. with all that talent/resources so I'm an equal critic here. LOL
Terrible? Hmm. I don't think it's even close as to which side of the ball played worse. JG and the offense were awful
How do you give up 190 yards rushing, both crucial points at the ends and 150 yards to their star receiver and say it was a good performance? They couldn't tackle at all either + blown coverage. This is the unit we absolutely should have higher standards for plus it was 10 of the 11 returning. No excuses. No need for semantics. The entire team played like royal ass.
I don't recall saying they played good, I said they didn't play terrible like you said. The offense, in particular JG, was terrible. There is room for improvement all around

Kwon did look retarded at times lol. but you are correct. the offense did not pull their weight. AGAIN.
He really did look awful. Greenlaw is just going to continue taking his snaps if this continues

For the entirety of the game, Saleh was playing his CBs as field and boundary. Sherman was the field CB. I think this is the change that Matt Barrows was referring to when he said he can't talk about it until after week 1. There are pros and cons to this.

So schematically, what changed? I assume the coverage responsibilities between the corners have never exactly mirrored one another? Did they shift the coverages so that Sherman has to cover more open field, where he is a good tackler, but Moseley is more likely to deal with WR routes that use the sidelines?

I can live with that. I just mean terrible for them and their standards given this unit was built to be our strength.
Not a great start especially for these two:
Defensive lineman Solomon Thomas (44.9)
Safety Jimmie Ward (46.5)

This meathead had all off season to prepare and that's what he came up with.

Saw some more 2 S looks. But lots of base personnel with Greenlaw. Any T.Moore?

I saw Moore once early and he stopped a Murray scramble and I got excited and never saw him again

Moore listed as having 2 defensive snaps. I don't think he was a part of the gameplan.

Whats this dudes game plan for stopping mobile QBs? Play after play he left Murray run free. Trying to contain this kid with four much bigger and slower Dlineman is not the answer.

It seemed as if our D guys played hard...all of 'em. But it also seemed like Saleh was coaching the D in the first PS game. There was no trickery, no blitzing , no anything out of the ordinary other than moving some DBs around. What was saleh's plan to stop Kyler? Did he even have one? Did he work on one? Cause if so, i couldn't see it.
Some good news for saleh fans. After first game, anyone interested in him becoming their HC....just forgot about it. We didn't double, we weren't aggressive., we played hard but it seemed like we were constantly fooled or outwitted by either Kyler of KK. And that surprised me. Saleh is the steady Eddie fo the team. Doesnt get ruffled. But neither does he get aggressive at times, and he seems to play the same hand over and over again. So good news, is after Sun, nobody in his right mind would have Saleh on his list of new HCs at end of season.
For a 1st PS game it was okay on D, esp D playcalling. For a 1st regular season game, saleh looks about oh, maybe 3 more PS games before he gets with the program. What i am unimpressed by is the lack of thinking out of the box by saleh...or just plain out of the box period Because right now our D is plain Jane, and plain vanilla virtually all the time. Why on earth is that? It was disappointing...but not if you want saleh to stay next yr. He sure made a play for DC here next season, and that's for sure.

Giving up that fg at the end of the half with that b******t defense was HORRIBLE.

Yeah, you'd think against AZ he'd be in the game plan a truckload vs. Greenlaw.
Greenlaw had 35 of the 82 snaps. That means we were in base personnel 43% of the game.
That seems opposite to me.

Pretty standard M.O. for Saleh's no-big-play mantra there.
