Supplement Mitchell with Dalvin Tomlinson in the draft and we're good to go at the nose.

When a difference maker can be signed, pay him . . . just pay him . . . and win.
A difference maker.

Spend when its time to Spend...Pinch when its time to Pinch... Know the difference... Thats how u win

I think Mitchell could really elevate this young line with some mentorship and experience.

I already can see some developing cbs on the outside. I like move. EM could be more value to the team than we could imagine. Small move to instantly put our dline into top 5 unit on paper. Good job by the FO.

Thank goodness you have nothing to do with the decision making process.

He's 300 lbs and not great against the run.

As depth, possibly playing a lot as DT in nickel, or in base as a rotational Strong side end, or weak side tackle, seems like a good signing. Especially considering the other teams that were interested (Seattle, Atlanta, who run the same D we will, and Denver, who knows D)

If he's supposed to be our 1 tech We still need 1 or two Fat Guys.

s**t, you have no idea.
Oh, goody.
Good signing, $16M over 4 years is a good investment, that's $4M a year average wise, not bad IMO.

Should see terms hopefully by Monday, depends on when it's officially signed and submitted to the NFLPA.

This signing is just a small drop in the rebuild. This guy is a servicible rotatation player who may or may not make the final roster. If he plays well we keep him . If not we cut him an keep some of the money

that's a bold statement to make.

Very bold. Almost "mark my words" bold.

When you consider how many physical Dlinemen are on the roster already, this move tells me there will be more moves regarding this position and that includes cuts.
Love the signing. I'm sure once the numbers come out it will end up being a 1 or 2 year deal with the team being able to get out of it after that with little dead money hit. I still wouldn't mind resigning Dorsey as well. But I love how aggressive our FO has come out in FA. And based off Lynch's comments on KNBR the other day I get the feeling he's not afraid to do what it takes to get the guys they like wether it's FA or via draft. So expect a lot more additions, maybe some trades and maneuvering in the draft.
I guess. I was under the impression he was a run stuffer so I was excited but now I guess a depth signing in a 4-3 scheme. Dorsey is probably gone and who knows if Armstead will remain healthy. 5.5 sacks sucks. Does he solely collapse the pocket without much production via stats? I don't know lot's of money for depth.

Like? We have ZERO true 1T's on the roster so I don't think this is accurate.

A.Armstead
D.Buckner
R.Blair
Q.Dial
T.JerrodEddie
Z.Moore
M.Purcell
C.Jones

On top of this the guys who are potentially being looked at to transition to the Dline

A.Brooks
A.Lynch
T.Carradine
E.Harold

And now...

E.Mitchell

That's 13 bodies on the Dline and F/A hasn't even started.

Brooks, Lynch, Tank, and Harold play entirely different positions. They'll be at LEO or SAM which isn't the same. Also, Purcell is an obvious cut while TJE and Jones are FA's. Moore was just picked up and is nothing more than a shot in the dark at the moment.
