DT Earl Mitchell thread

Lol he listed the entire defensive line and none of them are true 1ts, as ninerfan84 alluded to.

mike purcell was the closest thing, but he flat out sucks. thankfully, we've got mitchell now.

I have been reading he was signed to plug for the run since they are not going to resign Dorsey? More and more likely we draft Allen.

Blair, Buckner, Armstead Mitchell, and Allen sounds nice, plus two or 3 other linemen since we are going an attacking 4-3 now.

Eli Harold can unquestionably play coverage in this defense is he drops that extra bulk he put on. Most of the coverages in this scheme are spot drops to a landmark and not man'd up.



Lynch is having another baby. Chip said he was in the 280's at the end of the season. He's going to come into camp over 300 lbs.

That's 13 bodies on the Dline and F/A hasn't even started.

That's seven dudes, blair, lynch and brooks are outside guys with blair having the ability to move inside. Inside we have AA (maybe), defo, jones, and mitchell. Defo can play 4 or 6 tech on base defenses but I expect him to slide inside on passing downs. I really don't see a log jam yet. Dudes I didn't highlight I expect to be cut.

Brooks most likely cut but he is our best OLB right now, before FA and the Draft. If bow isn't healthy, brooks is also our best MLB at this point too. And not to mention he's led this team in sacks for several years now. We don't have his replacement on this roster, yet.

While I'm really happy with the signing of Earl Mitchell, I'm kinda bummed now, I guess we won't be going after Brandon Williams or Dontari Poe, I'm thinking maybe they know that those will demand a lot of money, I'm thinking what the Giants gave Damon Harrison last year, 5yr/$46.25M deal, $9M a year average, $20M fully guaranteed.

Is it just me, or have you turned into a very pessimistic poster lately? I remember liking you during the season because you would hold it together and do some quality game film evaluation no matter how garbage our season was going. I wouldn't expect you to make posts like this.

So, Mitchell will be our NT, in our 4-3 scheme, correct?

Glad were making moves, great to see the momentum building with the franchise

Though we may have picked the girl at the dance a bit early

I want our 1-tech NT to be a pro bowl type guy, and Hankins, Williams and Poe fit that
I suppose it can still happen, theres always room to rotate guys around

We will go younger and cheaper with Allen if they don't use it to get a QB
