Now Smith was demoted/benched, and people were pissed we didn't offer more than what he got, $40M.

Plenty of other options for spending the cap bucks. And its early days.1

Exactly. Some of those smaller deals could end up being the best deals, and steals of free agency. Giants got good value with their signings, but I was shocked by the amount they gave Harrison, Vernon, and Jenkins. It's crazy people say we won't pay a OG $8M a year, but they wanted Osemele, who got over $11M a year, makes no sense.

Some free agents I'd consider.

QB Brian Hoyer
QB Matt Schaub
FB Patrick DiMarco
WR Pierre Garcon
WR Alshon Jeffrey (I'm thinking he gets a big pay day, or he ends up not getting what he thinks he's getting, I can't gauge what he will get, Suspended 4 games I believe, plus only 2 TDs last year)
TE Jacob Tamme
C J.C. Tretter
OG Kevin Zeitler
LEO Melvin Ingram (This is the guy I would spend the big bucks on, have no issue going as high as Jackson's deal)
NT Brandon Williams (I'd still inquire about him, we may need more than 1 NT, and we should rotate lineman)
CB A.J. Bouye
CB Trumaine Johnson
SS Tony Jefferson

Those are off the top of my head, I'd include that FB from Baltimore, but I have no freaking clue how to spell or say it lol.

Also for those who wanted Poe, there's a chance he get tagged by KC, if not, then Eric Berry may be the one who gets tagged, or neither could, so basically you have no clue who will truly be available come March 9th at 4PM EST/1PM PST.
Plus the Mitchell and Williams deals won't count against us when Comp Picks come out next year, of course my hope is we sign more UFAs than we lose.

Alright. I got one interior lineman. Now im going out and drafting Jonathan Allen to pair inside. And put my 1st rounders on the outside.

I think Mitchell could really elevate this young line with some mentorship and experience.

I already can see some developing cbs on the outside. I like move. EM could be more value to the team than we could imagine. Small move to instantly put our dline into top 5 unit on paper. Good job by the FO.

No you're not drafting Allen at two based on who we already have, can still sign, and depth of position in the draft

I'd throw Ronald Leary and johnathan hankins on that list as well

Supplement Mitchell with Dalvin Tomlinson in the draft and we're good to go at the nose.

Would love Tomlinson dude never gets pushed back

Eli Harold can unquestionably play coverage in this defense is he drops that extra bulk he put on. Most of the coverages in this scheme are spot drops to a landmark and not man'd up.

Lynch is having another baby. Chip said he was in the 280's at the end of the season. He's going to come into camp over 300 lbs.

I just want lynch from Norte Dame his freshmen year....

Mitchell in 2013 with HOU was being coached by one Jeff Zgonia.
Anyone think that he's replacing Dorsey?

Damon Harrison transformed that defense and he was a pro bowler. I'd pay 9 million easily for any one of the three best NT's in the game in Williams, Poe or Hankins. If ShanaLynch are serious about stopping the run, you need a true plugger so that Buckner, AA, Blair and whoever our LEO will be, can flourish. And like any good 4-3, a guy like Mitchell would be rotating in and carving out a role like he did in Houston.

I hope/think this symbolizes the new regime's aggressiveness for this offseason!

I absolutely can't wait for the next additions to our roster!

I'd love Hankins or drafting someone like dalvin tomlinson

Nice! Always a plus as a coach to work with a familiar face.

I thought this immediately. Is Dorsey still under contract this year or is he an upcoming FA? I can't remember.

For sure.

While I'm really happy with the signing of Earl Mitchell, I'm kinda bummed now, I guess we won't be going after Brandon Williams or Dontari Poe, I'm thinking maybe they know that those will demand a lot of money, I'm thinking what the Giants gave Damon Harrison last year, 5yr/$46.25M deal, $9M a year average, $20M fully guaranteed.

Signing Mitchell does not prevent us from signing a run stuffing tackle.
