I think you underestimate the power of Earl Mitchell.. LOL but seriously, we have struggled against the run a bit since losing Jones. This can only help to have another big body to take on double teams and allow the rushers to run free.

Among the possibilities, it has to be any one of these: S Exum, TE Helm, CB Johnson, WR Matthews
We have 10 DL on the roster after adding Mitchell, but I can't imagine wanting to cut Givens after all the promise he's shown. If Ford is healthy, I think there's a very slight chance Zettel could get cut, but I think we should keep him. We need the pass rush depth.

Personally, I think we should cut Exum if Tartt is ready to go. Let Mitchell take his spot on the active gameday 46 to ensure our DL stays as fresh as possible. Mitchell is a "true nose" like Taylor and Jones. No other player really fits that mold, the rest are mostly interior utility players who mainly are suited for gap penetration versus space-eating.

s**t he's probably not much worse than Day is right now. He'll probably be in the rotation right after Day considering what type of shape he is in.
