He's not a NT he's more a pass rushing DT will still need a big immovable object in the middle.
If this is indeed the case, then where do we see Buckner and AA?

Lol - let the "they see AA as a bust!" talk begin again. (Not saying you said that, but watch lol).

Unless one of them will line up at weakside, I do see that coming.

I think Buckner can be moved around, playing at both DE and DT. With Saleh having coached under Gus Bradley who liked using a BIG DE on the strongside, I wouldn't be shocked to see the thing happen with the 49ers. As far as Armstead goes, it would appear that playing inside would be his best fit in the defense but until the final roster gets assembled, who knows how they plan on using him?

AA might be our starting weakside DT. I've seen Buckner and AA both projected there, with the other as our strong side DE.

Assuming that Mitchell is NOT the 1tech and LEO won't be filled by neither AA nor Buckner, then one of them will be benched.

Some reading I've come across. I wonder what a Dolphin fan thinks. Maybe he's a well rounded player which is just fine. That SEA/ATL/DEN wanting him means he was well coveted so that's good. Lynch scores!

Mitchell excels in the run game and was a solid rotational player for Miami in 2014. After signing a 1-year deal with the team Mitchell managed to carve out a role for himself on the defensive line alongside Randy Starks and Jared Odrick.

He's played both three-technique and a nose tackle, and is an underrated member of the Texans defense. He's never been a dominating player but, like Soliai, is able to eat up blocks and take on two players at the same time, using his 6'3", 300-pound frame to free up other defenders to attack opposing quarterbacks. As the Miami Herald's Adam H. Beasley pointed out, the Texans' defense averaged 4.2-yards allowed per carry when Mitchell was not on the field, but that allowed average dropped to 3.1 yards whenever Mitchell was out there.

The interesting part is that Mitchell will be starting alongside Suh. Mitchell has been a part-time player his entire career and maxed out at 553 snaps in 2013 with the Houston Texans. He's a much better run-stuffer than pass-rusher, but being a starter doesn't necessarily mean being an every-down player. After all, first down is a running down.

I don't get the Buckner at strongside at all, compared to AA. AA seems to be more powerful, Buckner is more of an athlete and penetrator, is he?

I think you'll see a more DT-by-committee approach like what Seattle does. I do expect Buckner to get moved around a lot in particular.

Thx man, this has got a very calming effect.
Looks like free agents like our new leadership thus far

Buckner is better against the run. You want the guy who is better against the run playing the 5 T. Unlike Red Bryant in Seattle however, Buckner actually offers some good pass rush ability as well which will allow him to be used in a more versatile fashion.
All he needs to do is blow past his guy in a pass rush every play and let the ILB fill the gap.

5.5 sacks in 5 season? seems mediocre to me.

There's a lot more going on on the field for interior DLinemens than sack numbers. Brandon Williams only had 4.5 sacks in 4 years but he's one of the best interior DLineman in the league.
