Umm, his arm was held by the defender, and even if it wasn't what does going to Harvard have to do with not stretching, it happens, dude is well worth every penny, people really don't get how good he is, there is more to his game than TDs, he's the best blocking FB IMO, best FB in the NFL, if walks who replaces him? Hokit? I don't trust a 2nd yr, really a rookie, FB.

Keep telling yourself that while players like sherm will walk.

Signing Juice won't prevent us from retaining someone like Sherm, Hyder, Verrett or Trent.

He's expensive and the defense looked good without him. Might be time to replace him in the draft.
.... and that would be TOMMY TREMBLE !!!!
Juice on KNBR today:

"I would just say that I absolutely, absolutely loved my time here with the Niners," Juszczyk said on the Murph & Mac show. "It's been absolutely phenomenal. I really would love to continue [my career] here, but my economics degree would tell me that it would be smart to weigh my options, and see what's out there, and see what kind of opportunities I do have for my family, and that sort of thing."

"Kyle and I have already had just brief informal discussions about a possible return," Juszczyk continued. "I'm absolutely open to that and would love that because I love everything that we've built here, and it's been so cool to be a part of that, really, from the very beginning when Kyle and John (Lynch) got here — a complete overhaul. To be a part of that first original free-agency class that they brought in has been really cool, and I would love to continue that."

I feel like there has to be fullbacks out there with somewhat similar traits to Juice, that won't cost $5 a year.

I think you're right. It's never a good idea to have that much money invested in a fullback, especially when you've got more pressing needs.

Juice was the very first free agent player I was hoping they'd sign when Kyle landed here in SF. I loved watching him playing in Baltimore. It sucks, but our cap situation is getting tight, Juice is getting older(will be 30 before next year), and tough decisions must be made. That said, I'd love to have him back.

Good post!

It's the cap and pressing needs that impact the decision.

Too bad. Sherman won't be here, Dee will be let go and some others too.

We MUST resign Trent which will be expensive.

This is going to be one tough off-season.
Juice has been overpaid for 4 seasons. No other fullback is close to his salary. Now when the rubber hits the road he basically says f**k the 49ers I'm testing the market instead of coming to a compromise.

Better take a pay cut if he wants to return.

Its high time to drop some dead weight. Ford never plays,Sherm misses more games then he plays and the same with Jimmy.
The problem is the 49ers have always overpaid free agents. Ford,Alexander,Juice,McKinnon,Coleman and Richburg all way overpaid.

its very likely
