No, can't afford him.

Plus he's gonna be 30 y/o

Plus he only plays about 40% of the offensive snaps, so easy to replace

Plus FB's are undervalued and not drafted so good FB's available late in the draft

The Ravens replaced Juice with a Minimum salary UDFA and he's now 2x pro-bowler

I still think that for the money he got, he was NOT used correctly...

I agree whole-heartedly that a FB with this much skill has been underused. Look at his career stats & you'll see that his usage in SF vice Baltimore is night & day different.

Just in this crap-tastic year:
6th on the team in Rushing, 7th in Receiving in terms of yards & he was cleanly missed on several passing plays that would have gone for more yards. Performance is on par with the #2 & #3 TEs that both had elevated snaps with Kittle being out
Tied for 3rd on the team in total TDs.

Leader for the RB group, one of the team leaders overall. Every year not including COVID he's hosted holiday dinners at his home for team members who couldn't get back to family or had no family to go to.

Lead blocker for all these UDFA RBs making big time plays in Shanahan's Offense. Also for a lot of the WR & TE runs.

If you're worried about Juice being 30 & slowing down at a position that isn't super speed reliant you should be campaigning to cut Mostert who is 28 & is all about speed.

Patrick Ricard has -1 rushing yard & 104 receiving yards in 4 years has Juice's "replacement" in Baltimore. They both block, but Juice does so much more.
Read the article by Barrows in The Athletic on 49ers RBs. He includes data in Juice. Seems very compelling to me on why the 49ers should resign him

will he come back if Seattle offers him more money ??

The Seahawks have less money than we do for 2021, and they have to extend Jamal Adams, he won't be happy playing on his 5th yr option number, yes they can save $14.1M by cutting Dunlap, but, the 49ers can easily create cap room to keep Juice and others, I have no doubt in my mind that Juice comes back for 2021 and beyond. Same for Trent Williams, it's more of I'm not sure the 49ers will be able to afford to keep K'Waun, Verrett & Hyder. I'm wary of paying Verrett and Hyder big money, Verrett hasn't been able to stay healthy during his career, and Hyder's only had 2 good years, both with the same DL coach. As for K'Waun, I have no issues paying him top dollar, but, with the cap dropping, and he's I think 30 ish, I'm not sure the 49ers will pay that kind of money to a Slot CB, I hope I'm wrong though.
Agree, and greats points on this post. I also hope Hokit can give Juice some competition in training camp.

If for some reason we do lose Juice, I think we have players like Hokit and can move a TE to his position for depth, and draft another FB/offensive weapon in the later rounds.

I'm still a big believer in defense wins championships, and I think between a defensive all pro player and an offensive all pro player - I'd go defense 9 out of 10 times.
well have the money for juice once coleman disappears. no worries.

9 catches for 45 yards and a TD plus 1 carry for -1 yards. 4 years 103 total yards and 4 TDs. Wow what a replacement.
Juice has 1080 yards receiving and 7 TDs plus a couple of rushing TDs and a hundred yards plus rushing in the same period. Not to mention his blocking is top notch. I don't think he was "replaced".

Yep, and imagine if Richard was in the NFC, he wouldn't be a 2 time pro bowler, besides how many teams in the AFC use a FB anyway? Juice is 1000% better than Richard is IMO.
Franchise this man please.

Me thinks franchise tag for FB is not too expensive.

FBs are lumped in with RBs, so he'd have to be tagged at the RB level, which is gonna be like $10.853M or so.
