I think folks want to see him touch the ball 4-5 times a game. When Lynch called him an "offensive weapon" it may have slapped Juice with unrealistic expectations regarding production numbers.

I believe Juice being back depends on who is the QB if its Jimmy G he is far more likely to get resigned and overpaid because we need him for the run game. If we bring in a new QB that could signify a change in philosophy and we could become a more pass heavy team. I would have to say the Jets are a possible destination.

Agreed.

I'd ask him to structure it for me so there's less on this coming year, but he absolutely doesn't deserve a pay cut for me. A lot of guaranteed cash, just push some down the line.

This guy's not worth what he's paid. How many 3rd and 4th and 1s has he converted over the years? I hope the next fb we bring is a hammer. Short yardage had killed us for years. With all these scat backs we play you need a hammer who can come in and always get you that yard yard and a half.

Don't know what you've been watching. He's crucial to our run game apart from blocking.

Also he may have came in overpaid, but he's worth keeping around. I'd pay him.

I think ShanaLynch overpaid for free agents in the beginning that they felt fit the offense/defense they wanted to run to ensure they got their guy. Makes sense if they wanted to ensure they got Juice and fullback is an easier position to overpay for than say, edge rusher or WR.

With that said, I hope they extend him, but they need to get the replacement on the roster THIS off season. If there were no pandemic, I think they would've extended him already

I don't give a f**k if it costs $5.25M a yr, you NEED to re-sign Juice, no one else in the NFL can do what he does, sure Dwelley was decent, but the run game suffered when he & Kittle were out in 2019. Not like it's our money they're spending. Also agree if there was no pandemic we may have seen an extension. Idk what's going to happen, I hope Trent & Juice return, those should be the top 2 priorities for their UFAs, then Verrett, K'Waun, & Hyder, no sense in trying to get Sherm, or Tartt or Jet back, heck I think Bourne leaves for more money, and he should, he's entering year 5, he needs to cash in, if the Jets offer him a higher number than the 49ers do, then yeah he's done. Jet & Sherm aren't coming back, we knew that. I don't even think re-signing Tartt should be considered. The only other UFAs I want back are Jones, and Blair, and if we don't get Mack, then Garland. Those don't include them re-signing 1yr minimum salary guys like Johnson, Walker, J.Taylor, Grasu, etc... I also don't think nor do I want Thomas back, he said he would love to, but for the right price, that says to me that he thinks he'll have a market, and he may have one, we've seen teams overpay players that didn't produce much at all.

This. It is the lowest paid position in all the football even if he is the highest paid at his position he's so worth it. FBs and kickers if they are great they are definitely worth 5 million.

The interesting thing is people think it's too much to pay for a FB when I don't think anyone can do what he does. They can sign a cheaper veteran fullback for 1 to 4 million less per year, which will allow a team to sign who exactly? And what is the loss in quality of the player to save that amount?

WE gave him too much money for all the stuff he could do but did not get a chance to... so why give him that much money again when we can draft Tommy Tremble and do what Juice can do and be cheaper..
