A lot of money for this guy, but if he is getting 40 receptions, and doing great run blocking/pass blocking he is probably worth it

My favorite signing so far.

I look at it this way: Ladarius Green is getting the same amount, and Vernon Davis signed a similar contract (1 year less). I'd much rather have Juice at that amount than them. He's arguably the best blocking fullback in the league and will be a receiving threat on top of that. In terms of production, his contract is on par with other guy with similar deals

Great signing, good fit. I was expecting a pretty high draft pick to go to a pass catching RB.

This guy plays on STs too.
"He's been extremely valuable," coach John Harbaugh said last week. "He plays the fullback position, but he also is a very multiple type of player. You can give him the ball, he's great in pass protection, he can line up outside and run routes as an outside receiver. And not to minimize, but he's one of our best special teams players. He's just a core special teams player. He's excellent at that. So I think his value is very high."

Oh, I think McCaffrey is still a very real possibility.
Kyle loves to come out in 21 personnel and then go 4 or 5 wide. Christian and Juice could make this scenario an absolute nightmare.

Then why didn't they resign him

I concur I love this guy. Finally we get the best player at a position. He is going to make our whole offense look better our quarterback look better our running back look better and stay healthier. He is also a playmaker catching the ball. This guy is a great all pro football player and well worth 5 million a year

Having a FB return to the offense is going to work wonders on Hyde's health.

Serious question, asked out of ignorance:
Hyde has a "health card" issue, ie as all know he has been lost for varying amounts of time due to injury. Ok, obviously if Jusczyk leads thru the hole, CArlos gets less beat up. Here's the question. Would Jusczyk, aka EYE CHART, be good enough to take some carries, along with pass blocking , pass receiving, to allow us to NOT have to get another RB2? Or could we skate, or get by comfortably with EYE CHART as RB2...and not have to worry about bringing in another RB?
NOw if that RB happened to be named Fournette, that's a different matter. But would Jusczyk work as a RB2 and then we have our backfield set on O. Lead blocking, taking blows for Hyde, giving Hyde a blow from time to time, pass blocking, and then catching passes out of the backfield to a monster should scare the piddly out of some poor CB. But question is would he suffice as RB2?
