would he even be in the league if we didn't sign him???

Maybe not with the FB role disappearing around the league. I hope Kyle can use his RB scouting super power to spot the next Juszczyk in undrafted free agency. If he's so dang important to Kyles offense, you need a back up for him.
If they can get out of this contract after 2 years, it's a decent deal.

Hard for me to imagine we couldn't have drafted someone in the 5th or 6th round to take his place.

Agree. We have three 5th round picks too.

If only $10 Million is guaranteed, then it's not really a massive overpay. They said it was full of incentives. If he plays well, we won't regret the cost. If he is on the downward slope of his career due to age and wear and tear on RBs generally, then it sounds like he basically has two guaranteed years worth of pay with the club. We are fortunate there isn't a bigger market for his services because he is an impactful player. I'm happy with this signing.
Meanwhile Mostert can only hope to make under 6mm a year if he hits all his incentives....sounds right...

I'm right there with you. Or maybe invest two or three more million per year and get Hayward at corner

It is almost like you guys didn't watch many games this season and don't know how good of a run blocker he was for us. You don't just draft a guy in the 5th round and replace the best FB in football, who knows our system inside and out. Get out of here with this nonsense.
it's a great deal no matter what because Juszczyk is the most versatile FB in the league, and perfect for Shanahan

He's a Fullback who can block at a high level, but can also run a route and catch a pass, and for the first time last year, he showed some goalline value

I'd still draft Tommy Tremble though he won't last past the 4th. Kittle, Juice, Tremble, and Hurd (if healthy) would not just be fair.
