The play @ 40 secs I wonder why Purdy didn't pull the trigger there. Juice was wide open with Aiyuk drawing 3 defenders, I've seen him make these throws before too. Fortunately he scrambled and still found juice later.

I think there are a couple of reasons -

1) The play looks like it's meant to put Deebo and Aiyuk in dangerous positions, with Juice stretching the defence with surprise deep threat. The defence actually covered all three aspects really well, forcing Purdy to abandon the concept.

2) It looks like Juice is supposed to go long, but (as mentioned in the breakdown) the safety has read that threat well. Brock can't just throw to where Juice is now, he has to anticipate that Juice will continue his route and not just sit. If it was Kittle he'd probably just sit, because Kittle does ridiculous stuff like that (ha ha!), but Juice would have continued right into the defender's zone.

Juice broke out of his assignment once he saw the play had broken down, and made a great scramble drill play.

You are just saying this because you saw him in a speedo the other day.

Lolol that has NOTHING to do with it, I swear haha. Srsly though, I have always liked Juice, been thinking of a jersey for a while now, pre-speedo haha.
On the brighter side, Juice...just a pure football player! And a very good one at that. Has continued to contribute at any given moment his number is called...reg. season, playoffs, SBs. That catch and extension to get the 1st Down to keep the drive going in OT yesterday was impressive, especially for a FB.
Is there a chance he retires this offseason? Dude is going be 33 in April.

Was wondering the same thing. Hoping for at least one more year.

I think Juice plays out his deal- two more years.
They use him less and less.

It was wild to hear romo telling Kyle to put him back out there.

Agre and IMO it's a mistake not to use him more.

Romo has taken a lot of abuse for his Superbowl call but he was right a lot of the time imo.

He honestly surprised me. He still sucks (lol), but tbh he was calling stuff out and catching himself. I think he believes we made many mistakes.
love listening to Juice. seems like a chill dude. smart and well-spoken.

Might not be his choice, esp if he doesn't play ball on his contract.

Its two years and they have done nothing to groom a replacement.
Also- I've been saying this for years, Juice needs more catches. I'd be running more offense through him. Shift the focus of how we do things. Aiyuk, CMC, Kittle, Juice. Especially given what Aiyuk will command. May as well get a 1500 yard receiver at that salary.
