Shanahan wasted this guy's best years. I felt for years, he had 40 catches in him. Shanahan likes the fullback out there to keep the defense in base, but doesn't really look to build a guy like Juice into the offense much- similar to how the 2018 offense was designed around Juice or 2022-2023 around Deebo/CMC.
I don't see him being some elite Travis Kelce type of playmaker. But definitely an easy 1st/2nd option on about a third of the plays because he will get the least amount of attention of anyone.
It's crazy that as good as we've been, this iffense hasn't quite been maximized yet.
BEEN saying this for years now... I was against paying 44 all the money he got, ONLY because KS10 does not know how to use him to the fullest.. I brought up the point that Rathman had 72 or 73 catches during the repeat year.. and how is that possible when we had JR-JT-RC-BJ ...
we over paid the guy and did not use his full capability..
