Well they actually saved money on the initial cut. Some of you see dead money and don't really realize/know how the cap stuff works

I take it you're a cap expert. So tell me more, how much did they save on the initial cut as opposed to if they didnt do anything ?
It would be quite ironic if you tell others they dont realize/understand how the cap works, and yourself get it wrong.

This team is unserious.
Shanahan keeps making all the decisions and he is way too emotional with the players he likes on a personal level. Bringing back a 33-yrd old FB that plays less than 50% of the snaps, touches the ball once every 2 games and isn't an effective blocker anymore for 4M per year is the most egregious decision he has made since he ignored Mahomes when he didn't have a single QB on the roster.
I guess this is all about making Kittle and his wife happy. f**k Warner and his friendship with Greenlaw because if you're not part of the Cabo click you can kick rocks.

I don't get how that is an "obvious" answer for a team that has been penny pinching the entire offseason.
Coming into this offseason, Juice's cumulative cap hits were $3.6 million less than what he had actually been paid. That balance had to count against the cap at some point, and cutting him simply accelerated the timing. This offseason the 49ers initially asked Juice to play for $4million instead of $4.5. Juice is now playing for $4million. They are saving real cumulative money. The cap hit business is just about when it shows up on the books and I think the 49ers are fine with the dead cap hit happening this year.
In short, the 49ers are saving real money and paying their guy exactly what they initially offered.

Glad he's back! Best fullback in 20 years. And he isn't JUST a fullback. He's a weapon. Got him for a good price too
