Sorry my bad I was exaggerating.
He only had 5 carries last year and 19 catches
He also lost a fumble.
So one carry every 3 games and a single pass every game.
Explain to me how that's even worth a roster spot let alone 4 million a year.
It's not like he's a bulldozer either and can always convert third and fourth and short. He regularly gets owned and comes up short.
Yet we paid him but let Mason go who had 153 carries and still caught 11 passes for the same money.
It's inexcusably dumb....

Its not about touches though. TE2 doesnt get many looks but he's important right? Kyle's offense is built around perception. He wants the defense to commit to a 21 personnel play but then use Juice to motion out and force the defense to adjust to something they may not be prepared for.
Look at it like this, the moment he was released you had 2 defensive head coaches show immediate interest in him. Why do you think that is? Because they know the problem he can create for a defense.
Can you do that with someone else? Yes but they haven't found one that is that effective and the moment they do find one he'll command the same amount of money as Juice. So... why not just resign him.

It's an outdated and dumb philosophy. You want proof. The years juice was used the least were the years the team was the best. The years we went to the SB were both career lows for his usage. Check the stats.
Even in the years we didn't make the SB his usage was the lowest when the offense was doing the best. Almost no teams use a fb anymore because they have realized it's an outdated concept.
Considering the holes we have on the offensive and defensive line that spot would be far better served with a rotational lineman. Or maybe the backup RB should have gotten his money. Or maybe we should have paid a kicker who can make kicks his money.

2024 snaps: 544
2023 snaps: 653
Miami, Baltimore, Houston, Minnesota and Bills still use a fullback. All of those offenses are pretty good. Some of them are using the fullback more than previous years.
BTW would it help if we called him TE2? He spends half his snaps at the line of scrimmage or out wide. Would that help you guys get over it?

I'm talking targets/catches or carries. When he was actually used with the ball we were significantly worse.
If we're just talking bs blocking or pretending to be a receiving threat both their roles could be fulfilled by an actual tight end better or a wr or a lineman.
So explain to me how it's beneficial to have a guy that is on offense that is supposed to do it all but when he actually gets the ball the team is worse. Why not just get the players that are actually good at that role and can block better IE linemen. Especially considering we are so weak at the position
Literally no value as an actual runner or pass catcher so now we are just talking pure blocking.
I see nothing that would say as a blocker us using him provides any sort of value over another lineman.
If you really want that big back then get a nose who can do both and just hand him the ball. Your getting more value without sucking up a roster spot.
