The stories about crappy deals are bs. Shanny knows what he wants and the contracts are structured right.

How is this guy pass blocking?

Really good. It's something he's gotten much better at.

This one signing diversified and improved our offensive capabilities. .

Once again, why do we give a flying fudge what they think. Even if we did over pay we can afford it without it affecting us. I'm actually getting low key tired of the talk about Kyle lol. All the old dudes on here getting their few past boners trying to re live their love for Rathman lolz.

I agree. If it does not hurt our financial picture, gives us a good player, and attracts other FA, what is there not to like about it?

Great now all we need to do is get Frank back and we'll have a backfield that blocks better than our line

It's like going to the store and you see Absolut vodka... which is good and always tends to be pretty fair priced, but guess what?
I still rather pay a few extra bucks for Greygoose cause Greygoose is the ish when it comes to Vodka

I usually never comment on things like this but man, talk about the definition of ol faithful and reliable. We never worried about him, ever.
I wish a team like the Broncos made a trade for him to go for one last hoorah.
Yup. We traded in old faithful for the fracture king. Smart smart football move.

It's odd he's listed as a RB on the official roster. I think he'd be great as a third down back. He's going to get so many opportunities to make plays

Lead FB, short yardage and goal line back, move-TE, WR (all 3 spots), etc. OW is truly what he is. Paid like a running back but can do everything.

This. Can't wait to see what Shanahan's offense does with this guy every week

Yup, the more ways you have to spread the ball around, the less chance a defense has to know what you are doing. Good guy, good signing.

The greatest part about having a FB that can play multiple positions is the games you can play with the defense in regards personnel groupings. You can show base personnel in the huddle and if the defense matches up you can now exploit that by either unraveling coverage by motioning the FB or if it's a positional win exploit that mismatch. If he in fact fills this OW role we are in really good shape.

Yahtzee!

The fracture king had 30 yards less than old faithful despite the latter having 40+ more carries.

Hyde is a better RB than Gore right now, the injuries while unfortunate dont take away from how well he has played despite getting the hell beat out of him behind a poor run blocking OL and with garbage QB play.

The only reason you'd take Gore over Hyde at this point in their careers is entirely due to sentimental reasons.

Brodie you took my post out of context some. It was more so a thought of missing a prime Gore a lil, like a salute for all those years. Not regretting him being gone now. I'm not worried about the current RB position. I think if Frank wanted to do so, and Shanahan says eff it as well... I'd take back Gore for this year and let him retire with us. Hyde,Gore and a RB like Hunt would be dope.

I was down for Hightower, guess we've got bigger plans?
What does a successful stat line look like for juice? I'd like to hear some of your opinions

Fracture king also had more fumbles and fewer receptions.

I'd say something like 40-50 carries for around 200 yards rushing and 50+ catches for over 400 yards. IMO, that would be a good year and if his presence would open up others due to personnel matchups then it's all worth it.
I don't think he's a stat line guy. Watch pass protection and lead blocking, but where he'll earn that paycheck is when he's split out, motioned out, or lined up outside and then motioned back to FB. He's a walking matchup issue for opposing Defenses.

For example, just by lining up outside, he might force a matchup where a Sam LB is covering a slot receiver. Our Slot WR should win that matchup everytime, but Juice won't get any stat line credit for it.

I think he's going to get a ton of snaps this year. Both as a traditional Fullback in short yardage and run blocking but I can also see him as the primary 3rd down back in pass protection and the passing game. I think that's why he's labeled the OW.

Exactly. But, he would be playing passing downs for protection, making some catches too. Anyway the hof-er belongs here and it was a bad move to let him go.
