Clark blocked in the backfield like pretty much never for the colts.
That is cause he always in the passing pattern catching the ball.

And Tony Gonzales wasn't always involved in passing plays? Clark sucked at blocking that's why he didn't do it.

Juice ran the majority of his routes from the FB position (in BAL), unlike Clark. Juice and Clark played different positions. Juice's most recent comparison that I can think of might be Marcel Reece.

For sure, and given our lack of dominance at the WR position, I would not be surprised to see Kyle use Juice in an even more diversified manner and as a true offensive weapon...a lot!
I don't know about 73 catches but I could see 50 and moved around a lot to help as a tell for Hoyer in this WCO. I can actually see him used far more as a receiver than a runner or in traditional FB sets.
I can't wait to see how Kyle uses the Juice.

Yea, I always thought that 11 and 12 personnel groupings encompassed upwards of 90% of the colts offense.

I'm sorry, did you say "lead blocker?" Ahhh, how I've missed that.
You may be right... use him more in a traditional sense and then bam...or as an outlet.
You had just reviewed the film in ATL so you have a good gauge for how Kyle uses his FB. I can't wait to see it.

I think this is where I am interested in what Kyle's plans are for some of the moving parts in the offense this year. In Chip Kelly's offense, he loved to feature his slot receivers with lots of targets. So it's no surprise that Kerley earned himself a nice extension in that offense. In Kyle's offense his slot receivers haven't always been as featured as much as Chip's but then he goes out and drafts his "draft crush" in Trent Taylor so now we're all banging the table hoping for him to develop into an intermediate route monster like Welker and Edelman. As known by now, usually Kyle's split end is the one who dominates the passing game targets.Originally posted by NCommand:Originally posted by thl408:I think he'll be used as a lead blocker quite often. As for the fullback, he's usually just more of a check down option in Kyle's offense as opposed to a designated route runner, but clearly you don't pay a mere "fullback" what "Juice" got paid to just be a lead blocker and check down option. I think we may see some tinkering to Kyle's system this year but he is as innovative and smart of an offensive mind as there is in the NFL. You just can't help but have confidence he'll make what he has work.

My thoughts exactly. IMHO, I don't see the WR position as our strength so I have a feeling Kyle is going to be running a ton and passing a lot to the RB/FB/TE group with a lot of 2 TE sets... running a lot of Kerley and Taylor on 3rd downs. I have a feeling Kyle will move Juice around a lot too. He'll certainly have to morph because we don't have a true ZWR in Julio Jones.

Kyle is the offensive player that I am very interested in seeing this year. He's just too athletic for Kyle not to maximize his ability. We have slots who will spread the LB's out and Kyle will be the one filling on those spaces, getting catches and rumbling downfield.
Won't be surprised if he gets 40+ catches. William Floyd's highest season was 47 receptions.
