Excellent post 816, and that may be exactly what is going on. But i would ask this question. When you got one guy, Hyde, carrying the mail, and one other catching 20 balls Garcon, and a QB playing horribly, wouldn't it be beneficial to get more talent on the field. I think Jus is a huge improvement over Brieda, and i just don't see any more dependable talent out there. Right now, i would prefer getting the best 11 (okay, the best 5 or 6 on O) and playing with your best men. If kyle is saving Jus for jsut the right play, with so little talent on the field, i think that is a bad choice. I would much rather see our best guys out there, than use Jus in just a couple really good spots. We just don't have the talent to do that this yr. Next yr? Probably so. Just not right now.

It is an interesting thought though 816. But for this yr, i think it better if we have our best guys out there....keeping in mind we can't put out our best 11 because we don't have 5 more starters that have much talent. That's the way of a 70% new team.

IMO, Kyle and the offensive staff is still in the fact finding stages. Honestly, this whole first year will be a fact finding stage.

This page here shows personnel groupings of every time last year and their percentages
Personnel groupings
On this page they list them as 1-1, 1-2, 2-1 etc.....here's how you interpret that. In football there is 5 eligible receivers....for this discussion and all discussion involving personnel groups it's listed as HBs-TE-WR and it has to equal 5 and you only list the first 2 numbers. For example a grouping that has 1 HB 1 TE and therefore has to have 3 WR is listed in this spreadsheet as 1-1 personnel but is commonly called 11 personnel.

Anyways looking at this chart, ATL ran groupings that had 2 HB about 28% of the time(24% for 21 personnel and 4% for 22 personnel). So if this percentage held true with us and he was just a FB that would mean he'd onlt get about 30% of the snaps. Now, I believe Kyle when he refers to juice as an OW and to me that means he WiLL play FB, HB, TE and perhaps even some slot WR when it's all said and done. Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. Again, it takes a TON of time to not only get a scheme installed but to also find out where these guys go. It's just not as easy as some let on or as quick as us fans would hope.

I think if we have a lead and the offense starts clicking a bit more.. Gin&Juice will be more productive. Gotta open up the offense a bit more and have the intermediate game be on point to open up the under neath stuff.

Good stuff, and thanks 816...that would explain where we are at present. But i agree, kyle can't keep him off the field too long and our WRs are blah , TEs not a whole lot better, and Au Jus will be mighty nice to see in there, most plays, whether at HB, TE or WR...and hopefully he plays all of them real soon. We need the best 11 (ok ,impossible this yr), but best 5 or 6 anyway, and hopefully Au Jus is playing all 3 slots.
Well, finally got Au Jus where he needed to be...on the field. Good move , coach...now keep him there.
WASTED!!

STILL PISSED THAT WE DIDN'T TRY TO MAKE A TRADE FOR (WR) WATKINS.. NOW THE GUY IS W/THE RAMS..
Well, Watkins is a FA at the end of the season I think, or he only has 1 more year. Either way, if we end up wanting him, we can sign him in FA.

Our 5 million dollar FB is about to miss his 2nd game with injury.

It's a shame but it happens. He certainly would help CJ and our run game out, hope he's back soon
