It's funny, I called it base personnel.... however, the league as a whole only runs 21 personnel 7% of the time now. We did lead the league in what was traditional base personnel at 28% of the time. 11 personnel has taken over the league as its ran 59% of the time. Part of me thinks, Kyle is trying to buck the trend and feature 21 personnel more and more. It could be a way to exploit defenses and having a guy like Juice is vital in trying to accomplish this.

Yup. 100% right. You can argue juice is the only FB in the league that can move like a TE. Probably pretty easy.
That's how well exploit the lambs imo.
They're weak at LB and edge. I'd go base and 4 WR sets all day. Taylor and Pettis/bourne can beat their #3&4 CBs.

Shanahan is the master of disguise and deception. That is why his offense is so potent. He is like the muscle car builder that instead of audacious hood scoops, loud side pipes and a lot flashy display of power, he would rather be disguised. Somehow gets a fully blown, super charged engine inside a normal engine compartment, no outward clue as to what is lurking beneath. You have no idea what kind of trouble you are in until that fire breathing monster pulls off the line at a green light.

Juice is one of those deceptive components.

So deceptive you don't even notice him, SMH

That is because he largely is a TE. Dude played TE all throughout college, from what I've seen he looks more natural running routes than running with the football. His blocking ability allows him to play FB.

Exactly, I agree haha. Trying to stay humble but I think he's gonna prove his worth this year and along with jet and Kittle, those are gonna be the guys moving chains if we leave out WRs out of the equation.

Totally agree.

IMO, his production will soar this year.

I ran the numbers back in the Kyle statistical profile thread.

Rush- 113 ypg

Td-int ratio- 6-5
Rush td- 6
First downs- 117 (projects to 374 in full year)
PF- 144 (projects to 461 in full year)
Comp%- 67.4%
Yards per pass- 8.4
Yards per rush- 3.7
QB rate- 96.2
Pass attempts in the gun%- 62.9%

Catch distributions
WR1 - 24.6%
FB1 - 14.4
WR2 - 14.4
TE1 - 12.7
HB1 - 8.5
TE2 - 6.8

I wanted to update the with Jimmy G portion with catch distribution. Under Jimmy, Goodwin was getting a % of catches usually seen with a true number 1 WR. Hyde who ended the year as our top catcher was 5th under Jimmy. Juice and Trent Taylor each had the same number of catches and Kittle was the number 1 TE target.

With Jimmy as QB Juice was tied with Trent Taylor for second in reception during those games. If he would have done the whole year what he did with Jimmy he would've been knocking on that 50+ reception level.

Yup. What I said at the end of last year when Jimmy took over. Juice is gonna have another close to career year if not have impact on games where you look back and say he was a difference maker.

Looks like he was hustling back as if they were in a 2-minute offense. Never seems to look down at the guy's foot.
Juice is the slowest guy in the Running Back crew & he runs a 4.49.
