Obvious that someone on our side doesn't care
lol, gameday player jerseys are always cut and fitted differently than the fan jerseys...no big mystery there

Those are still in the 2012-16 Nike elite 51 template
Nike is implementing a new template called vapor untouchable for the on field uniform for a bunch of teams this year, and that's the one that has the different stripes for the Niners....will probably take a year or two for it to trickle down to the fan jerseys on the online stores

Will all teams be implementing them this year?

Some of the more conservative teams (like the packers, who never even implemented the 2012-16 template that had the Nikelace "flywire" collar) won't implement this new template either.
Uni Watch broke down a couple other teams (Cardinals, Texans) that apparently also won't switch:

Dr_Bill, are the Niners implementing the new jerseys this year?

I'm cool with it. Like that article pointed out, the old design didn't even have 2 full stripes the way most players wore their sleeves. It had one solid and the other cut in half.
Driskel last pre-season was the only guy who rocked the full 3 stripes.
This new design looks better with 2 full stripes imo. No more 1.5 stripes, that looked weird.

Nike already started implementing the vapor untouchable template during the pro bowl that just passed...
I'd say a good 2/3rds of the teams in the league if not more will switch this fall

The 49ers started this when they attempted to change the stripe pattern to look straight when the sleeves are cuffed over pads. The modern NFL player wears cuffed sleeves, because they cant be grabbed, and the shoulder pads now are WAY smaller. You dont need much sleeve.
The 49ers must approve all changes, so its not Nike's fault.
Its just the reality of the modern era that full sleeves with stripes on the end aren't the way the uniform is designed anymore. Same reason why more teams started using shoulder numbers instead of sleeve numbers. There almost no room on sleeves now.
We should be more concerned with the yellow pants. If were really going for a throwback look, use a flat tan color for the pants, and make the stripe thicker. Thats the classic look.

I don't know why they can't just add another stripe, it's such an easy fix.

New sleeves look horrible. What can we dont to protest? The 49ers and three stripes is classic combination!
