he had a terrible oc,, a ancient head coach and a bad quarterback in cj. he will be good for us
With the first two statements you made in this post are you suprised there was "bad" QB play lol.

they had a bad oc and a old coach but they were not responsible for the quarterback to have no pocket presence and take more sacks than ck ever could think of doing

With a 4:54 forty, wonder how fast he would be if he lost 10 to 15 pounds. Wonder what plans Kyle has for him since he's very close to WR type of ability.

I didn't watch any Iowa games, I have a few questions/wonderings about CJ and Kittle from the Iowa program.
It seems like they should've had more production than they did with Kittle having the athleticism he did, but was only targeted 48 times in the past 2 years IIRC. That speaks volumes about the system and play-calling. It also makes me wonder how strict the coaches were the Beathard hang in the pocket and go through all progressions? Also, makes me wonder how was the O-line? Also, how many of his throws were in the 2nd and long 3rd and long category? Shanny said they were primarily a PA team this year, how many of those PA actually worked against the QB and the offense?

Celek is making 2.5 million this year, finished the year with 29 catches for 350 yards and a 12.1 avg
McDonald is making 4.16 million this year, finished the year on ir again with 24 catches for 391 yards and a 16.3 avg.
Celek is the better blocker, route runner and catcher.
McDonald has pure speed
Teams called asking about McDonald

Yeah and I don't really agree about the blocking and route running part. Even as far as catching, perhaps, though Celek had several of his targets bounce right off his hands too. McDonald is mismatch and a more explosive weapon in a system like this, in my opinion.

Listened to the same interview, I think he did forget about Juice haha.
Having two guys on the roster like Juice and Kittle gives Shanahan some nice matchup options who can factor into the pass game and run game.

Maybe, he'll do some H-back stuff, but I don't think they'll move him to FB.

I see this guy and Hikutini pushing Celek and Bell off the roster. McDonald, Kittle, Hikutini as the 3 TEs, with Jusczcyk spending some time there as well.

Paulsen probably figures to make it somehow

Celek was Hoyer's teammate in college and should mesh well. I don't see Celek being cut anytime soon, unless constantly injured.

Paulsen is a perfect fit as a #3 blocking TE.
