I don't think the ball ever crossed above the pylon or into the endzone. It crossed out of bound before his hand hit the pylon. The video just wasn't conclusive enough for them to overturn it. Had it been called out of bound, it would have stayed as called. Since it was called TD on the field, I'll take the TD call

I think he was over it. Bad angles but I remember they should a replay during the game which looked pretty clear he was over it

Close enough. If the league really cared theyd install overhead cameras on a cable directly above the front two pylons. Throw in one at each hash mark too for goal line plays. A lot of times thats the missing, definitive angle on all those plays. Seems like a good investment..

They owed us one anyway. That 2nd cook td wasn't a catch.
Did a fantasy draft on madden. Picked up McCaffrey, Aj Green with Jimmy G as well as Von Miller One of the Green Bay edge rushers and Buckner. My plan was to trade for Kittle offered 2 1sts and a 2nd and they was like nah we good.

Nah that ball went over the top that's why his hand hit the pylon because the ball had already crossed over. I agree it would have stood had it been called out of bounds though.

It did. Clear TD based on the angles

Really no big deal for me on the play how people see it. But from my perspective, and every angle available that I've seen, Kittle was knocked sideways just before he could get the ball across the plane and pylon. By the time the back of his hand hit the top of the pylon, the ball was already out of bound.
Remember the original intention when replay started being used. Unless the replay CLEARLY showed the call was wrong the play would stand as called. We don't need more camera angles to confuse the issue and drag out the time it takes to get the replay settled. It was supposed to be 30 seconds then it went to a minute and now we see some dragging out for 3 or 4 minutes. The league is using them to squeeze in more commercials which we don't need.

Even when the replays is clearly right, the officials will still screw it up.
Clear TD imo.

One of the angles showed he clearly hit the pylon.

That was my question. Is hitting the pylon all it takes, or does the ball have to be inside or over the pylon. Because I still don't think it was. Check out this video angle ... start the play around 8:55.

My understanding is, George became a runner after he caught the ball. He then needs to get the ball over the plane. In this case any part of the ball has to touch or go over the pylon.

As opposed to a catch. Where the receiver can catch the ball out of bound, but both his feet in bound. It's a TD.

Otherwise you could have a qb sneak. The qb with the ball in his arm and all he has to do is stick his head into the endzone to 'break the plane'

GREATEST OF ALL TIME? TRUE. He has more yards the first 3 years by any TE in the history of the NFL after today. 🤷🏻‍♂️
