He's that kind of player and that catch was huge ATM!
Yeah that kind of player and getting his talent wasted away with us. 2 targets is inexcusable and pathetic

Based on your previous comment, I genuinely don't know if this is sarcasm or not. LOL

I mentioned before the game that I expected Kittle to see fewer targets since MM would likely need his help blocking Mack. I'd be interested to see how many snaps he spent there.

We need to be getting our money's worth for Kittle and Deebo and be using them as the primary workhorses until their bodies can't do it anymore. We aren't paying them chimp change rookie contracts anymore. They both need to get involved more qnd let everyone else be role players beside McCaffrey.

Pff says he had 2 pass blocking snaps against the chargers. He is pass blocking at a career low this season according to pff. This season he is pass blocking at a 6.9% rate. No other season in his career has he pass blocked at a rate less than 11.3%. His highest rate came in 2019 when he pass blocked at a rate of 16.1% of pass snaps.

Targets, against the Rams (26 targets):
- CMC, 9
- Aiyuk, 6
- Kittle, 5
Targets, against the Chargers (28 targets):
- Aiyuk, 7
- CMC, 6
- Deebo, 6
- Jennings, 4
- Kittle, 2
The only thing that's really clear to me is that Aiyuk seems to be our #1 pure WR, as Deebo gets lined up all over the place and sometimes gets touches as a RB. CMC will presumably get touches on dumpoffs, designed screens, and maybe even as a slot WR.
I'm not sure how Shanahan is deploying Kittle. I don't have access to the film. I'm not sure how defenses are playing our receivers. But Kittle doesn't seem to have been featured as a primary target since 2018, 2019. I assume a big part of that is because we've drafted Deebo & Aiyuk, and they've matured as quality receivers the last few years.
Would definitely like to see him more looks though.

Kittle has the 3rd most targets (41) on the team. Just behind Deebo (60) and Aiyuk (62). He also has the 3rd most receiving yards on the team. He spends 53.5% of his pass snaps inline, 35.1% in the slot and 10.2% out wide according to pff. That only adds up to 98.8%. So I am assuming the other 1.2% is in the backfield????

I mean it doesn't take a YOLO OC to realize that you have one of the best TEs and overall weapons regardless of position in football that should be utilized more. But I guess in Kyle/Jimmy's case (don't know who) maybe

I don't know if I would consider (19) targets "just behind" Deebo and Aiyuk. For Kittle that's like half his overall targets lol. Just for reference; Kelce has more receptions (63 or 64) then Kittle has targets and more than double his targets. Yes I know we are a running team and of course it will be way different than KC all things considered; just noting because those two are the best in the game right now and everyone sees the game changer that Kelce is. No doubt in my mind that Kittle can do the same for us if given more opportunities.

Unfortunately, it ain't gonna happen. But I do agree. Or even meet somewhere in between. His 1 catch changed our whole game otherwise this place would have been a cesspool this week.
