I don't know if I would consider (19) targets "just behind" Deebo and Aiyuk. For Kittle that's like half his overall targets lol. Just for reference; Kelce has more receptions (63 or 64) then Kittle has targets and more than double his targets. Yes I know we are a running team and of course it will be way different than KC all things considered; just noting because those two are the best in the game right now and everyone sees the game changer that Kelce is. No doubt in my mind that Kittle can do the same for us if given more opportunities.

Kittle has been targeted on 18% of his pass snaps. Aiyuk has been targeted on 20% of his pass snaps. Deebo has been targeted on 23% of his pass snaps. They really aren't some huge differences. Especially when considering the fact that Aiyuk has played 9 games, Deebo has played 8 games and Kittle has played in 7 games.

Comparing a pass centric offense like KC's to our more balanced attack is pointless. Of course targets go up when 1 team is averaging 10+ more pass attempts per game than the other. Plus Kelce has played in 2 more games this season and is their #1 receiver. But even he has only been targeted on 23% of his offensive snaps.

Great breakdown.

I wonder if his early season groin injury is lingering and slowing him down a bit
Don't get me wrong. Deebo hasn't exactly been reliable this season inspite of his targets per pass snap. Deebo has only caught 55% of his targets while Kittle has caught 70% of his. I wouldn't mind Kittle seeing more targets than Deebo for that reason.
Maybe Shanahan is trying to keep him relatively healthy until the post season or stretch run. I could be wrong, but maybe he will have his hand held until the playoffs and then Shannahan unleashes him. Maybe he is having others carry the load now, like Aiyuk to switch it up.

Throw him the ball more. He needs more passes. He will probably get less with all the weapons we have now.

I mentioned before the game that I expected Kittle to see fewer targets since MM would likely need his help blocking Mack. I'd be interested to see how many snaps he spent there.

Pff says he had 2 pass blocking snaps against the chargers. He is pass blocking at a career low this season according to pff. This season he is pass blocking at a 6.9% rate. No other season in his career has he pass blocked at a rate less than 11.3%. His highest rate came in 2019 when he pass blocked at a rate of 16.1% of pass snaps.

Great info, as always, YAC! Thanks!

Kittle also said that CMC in the Rams game, was the most he's ever been open. Meaning, teams were locking him up and the mere presence of CMC took attention off him. His 1 catch was 1on1. Hopefully we go more to him because of that and he used to be Jimmy's favorite target.
Kottle won't get targets because shanalynch botched the oline this year.

maybe - he just isnt fluid like Kelce - he is more of a bulldozer which is thrilling and also ripe for injury.

Yup. Kittle is a TE, not a pure WR. Kittle was originally drafted because of his elite blocking abilities.

Wait, so Kittle is open a bunch, but it's Kyle who's not getting him involved? Is Kyle going up to Jimmy and whispering in his ear to not throw him the ball? Do you even understand what you post anymore or just post to get in forum arguments for the sake of attention?

Just to add on with some more info I read somewhere that Jimmy G's passer rating when targeting CMC/Aiyuk/Kittle are all over 100+ and its way low when targeting Deebo like around 68.
