Kelsy, thanks to Mahomes, has left Kittle in the dust.

I wonder if George and Jimmy were hanging out watching the game together.

Pretty much Mahomes>Jimmy, but "Kelsy" is such a savvy route runner and he avoids hits whereas Kittle is not on his level with the route running but also likes to dish them hits out. But yeah, overall Kelce is a HOF TE, best TE in NFL history at the moment.

Nahhh. Best TE now. TE were a different breed back then. You just didn't convert a WR and add 15 lbs and be ok. TE were nasty like offensive lineman and savvy like WR…Like Kittkes! You can put Kittles with KC and his offensive stats will go up. Put Kelce with the Niners I'm not sure his blocking skills will be as effective.

He spends 53.5% of his pass snaps inline, 35.1% in the slot and 10.2% out wide according to pff. That only adds up to 98.8%. So I am assuming the other 1.2% is in the backfield????
I know a lot of us would like to see Kittle more involved but we have a lot of weapons on the team (Aiyuk, Kittle, cmc, Deebo). The issue is we just aren't a high volume passing team. We are 26th in the league in pass attempts per game, the top teams average over 40 attempts per game. Jimmy only averages 29 attempts a game. Kittle is averaging 6 targets a game. On 29 attempts a game you could target each Aiyuk, cmc, Deebo, Kittle 7 times which would give you 28 pass attempts. It's a good problem to have with having so many offensive weapons.
That 29 attempts per game is a necessary evil imo. Our best formula for winning is to run the ball well and limit Jimmy's workload. Jimmy is at his best when converting 3rd downs. The other issue besides attempts per game is who defenses are keying in on and trying to take away. I think CMC will be the key to getting Kittle and Deebo open more often.

You mean best receiver at the TE position. The guy is not asked to be much of a TE. George Kittle is more of a natural TE as he excels at the more gritty skillset that is part of the more traditional TE role. When you look at the receiving numbers in an efficiency standpoint, you will see that Kittle is just as good of a receiver as Kelce. Kelce benefits from a pass centric offense that targets him like a #1 receiver. So looking at the accumulative stats doesn't really make it an apples to apples comparison.

I'd rather have the Kelce tds and yards than watching Kittle with one catch or injured on the bench. Kelce is way better at receiving. Kittle is barely a redzone receiving threat.

Kelce is a gah damn wr that's the difference, Kittle actually plays the TE position. Also helps big time when you have a qb like Mahomes and Reid who prioritizes Kelce

I am guessing you did not read anything I posted in my post you quoted. We are not a pass centric offense. Kittle could easily put up the numbers Kelce does if Kittle were targeted as much as Kelce is every season and the efficiency stats prove that.

Travis Kelce has 93 targets in 10 games this season. Check out these position splits for Travis Kelce this season. Inline- 25.6%, slot- 43.1% and out wide- 31.1%. How can he even be considered a TE at this point?

Yup and he's never doubled or even bracketed all that much. Same 7 yards pass wide open in a zone and rumbles a few extra yards

Now that's how you feature a dominant pass catching TE!

Okay. Those splits say he is a WR. I am curious to know what Gonzalez, Sharpe, Gronk and Gates splits were throughout their careers compared to Kelce.

I know, I'm just playing. With our formula, Kittle needs to be more balanced as an actual TE.
That would be fun to break down but like here, you gotta kind of take the offensive philosophy into account and passing volume too.
