Really hoping he's ready. We're not nearly as good of a team without him. And Purdy had half his TDs to Kittle.
I look for that connection to continue if Kittle is healthy. Purdy likes to throw to his TE's, and Willis looks like he has the talent to score like Kittle. Wish Latu didn't go down with injuries - real in game reps would have, I think, accelerated his development. Now we have to wait for next year.
What's interesting is Lynch said Latu wouldn't have made the 53 and that's why they put him on season ending IR.
They were glad he picked it up to end camp but apparently things went so bad for the majority, he was going to be the #5 and odd man out. Good news for him is that both Charlie and Dwelley are free agents after this season. They probably don't keep either of them in order to cut costs going forward.
That's brutal. Dude better make the most of this year long training camp.
Here we are again hoping for another 3rd round pick to pan out. With him being on season ending IR,whats he going to do once healthy that will actually cause him to get better?
Very frustrating. Hope he breaks the trend of redshirt players doing nothing.
It's really disheartening.
I actually liked Latu coming out- in the 5th. But that run on TEs happened. I get why they overdrafted, but its irritating because of our early round drafting history. And I've been optimistic about these picks for years, even the ones I hated.
I am really curious as to what the year looks like for Latu once healthy. Is it weight room, strengthening his body, adding 10 lbs or so? Is he in team meetings, still immersed in everything, but not practicing? Just wondering what the plan is.
