Love this pick, I was really high on this kid and picked him in a mock draft to the eagles. Here was my, "Mayocks take" haha.

This guy is a Swiss army knife waiting to happen. He's got great hands, only one drop in 48 targets, and top end speed as he ran a 4.52 at the combine. He understands blocking angles and has good power for his size. He's a utility guy that they can line up in multiple places- slot, in close, in the backfield, with his speed he becomes a major threat on the seams.

He falls a little bit because he doesn't have ideal size or strength to be a traditional, in line TE and he needs to improve on his route running. But, he's a guy they can bring in to create matchup problems. He's big enough to be an effective blocker against nickel packages but too fast to cover with LB's. This really makes a lot of sense to add versatility to the eagles offense."

Real solid value and I think he will have a good future and career here. I saw him going late third round in some mocks and seems like a really good fit in Kyle's offense

They probably knew that nobody would pay that big contract (thanks Balke). Perhaps they were trying to motivate him to get his s**t together and learn to run good routes and catch the ball, etc.
