Which one of you runs this account lol..
WELL deserved!! he's had an awesome career... but time to start looking for the NEXT ..
I want Mike " HALLOWEEN " Mayer from the Raiders !!!
LETS GO !!!
Id like Mayer but the Raiders won't trade him to us. Plus, why move him when they have two good TEs on rookie contracts?

Tight end Trey McBride has agreed to an extension with Arizona that runs through the 2029 season, the team announced on Thursday. The deal is worth $76 million over four years, with $43 million guaranteed, of which $32.5 million is fully guaranteed, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. The extension also adds $19 million in new average per year money, per Rapoport.
At $76 million over four years, the one-time Pro Bowler vaults up the earning leaderboard at tight end to No. 1, exceeding the market rate set by Kansas City's Travis Kelce ($17.125 million per year) annually and San Francisco's George Kittle at total value ($75 million). His salary will nearly quadruple from 2025 to 2026, going from $5.786 million this season to $19 million per year starting in 2026.

Definitely needs to change but it also might be players holding off on signing a deal to see what others get paid to use as leverage. Think Ayuik did that waiting for Justin Jefferson to set the market

Jefferson signed his deal at the start of June. Houshmandzadeh was talking about Aiyuk wanting 120M/4 throughout May and specifically cited Amon-Ra St. Brown's 120M/4 deal as Aiyuk's asking price. Houshmandzadeh was (still is?) Aiyuk's personal coach and Housh was frequently on FS1 talking about where Aiyuk stood whenever the 49ers would leak to the media. Prior to the draft and the market exploding, Aiyuk was asking for a 26M AAV extension and Paraag told Lynch to trade Aiyuk because he didn't value him anywhere near that number.

No way the chiefs would dish out this kind of money for such an old player. But the Niners will.

Kittle is probably the best player on the team.

You're spot on…if we ignore the simple fact that the Chiefs made Kelce the highest paid TE before the start of this last season when he was 35 years old.
outside of that you're spot on.
Trey McBride deal was likely necessary for 49ers to finish George Kittle's extension — because Kittle is the NFL's best TE, he should get the highest APY. Current rank:

1. McBride: $19m
2. Travis Kelce: $17.1m
3. T.J. Hockenson: $16.5m
4. Kittle: $15m
5. Dallas Goedert: $14.3m https://t.co/Mv4jetlGAi

Agreed, and therefore, deserves to be paid.

100%. Shouldn't even be a discussion. He should have a deal Monday tbh. Dude is everything you want in a football player.
