screw SKITTLES.... lets trade for Michael Mayer !!! get it done by all means !!!

Every week i come on here hoping us Niner fans as a whole get better and every week i see your posts and lose faith in mankind.

be realistic buddy... Skittles almost done.. I didn't say to trade the guy, to me he's still the best.. bottom line, I see Michael Mayer a LEGIT payer.. an All Pro in the future, so WHY NOT trade for him NOW if possible..

Not sure how long of a 49er fan you have been, but if you were around during the Montana era, I would like to ask you how you felt when Walsh traded for Steve Young..
I'll be devastated if we lose Kittle. I don't want them to trade him and he's still too good. Too important to what we do.

As I wrote on the Brock thread a couple of days ago, as I see it, it was probably John York looking at all the dead money we have accrued keeping Kyle's favorites. This is no way to run a railroad. I think rather than have it bring us down for years, he's tried to put it all in one year to get it behind us. If you are concerned about a couple of million bucks more or less for Brock, all of which will be pushed down the road, keeping us out of the Super Bowl, how can Anyone think we've got a shot paying $81m out of the cap to players that are already gone? That's 29% of the cap, for Nothing. That makes this a rebuilding year. So a new contract for Kittle has little value to us except for 2026 and beyond, and we've got to bet Now that's going to be worth $20/year, when we're all about getting lean and mean and young again. Would getting significant draft picks for him fit what we're doing better? I can see where that's a question.

"Pretty hard to stress too much over $50m that won't kick in for years, when we stepped on it and have $81m in dead cap money This year. How can you win a SB in a year when you are paying Nobody that? Makes me think this is a rebuilding year, we have no shot, and we need to get some rookies some playing experience.

I think we're Trying to sacrifice this year by putting as much of the bad cap decisions into it, and shooting for next year with two rookie classes. Makes me wonder how we want to even deal with Kittle when we're only looking at 2026 and beyond, but we do need targets for Brock. Also, get BPA, because we have another year to fill positions. Another loss or two just helps that. A couple of mil plus or minus for Brock won't matter, but he's cheaper per year if we do it now and include this cheap year. Pay the man some big cash and let him earn on it, and reduce the future years after we get lean and mean again.

IMO, John has spoken."

Everyone complains about signing people to big deals and trying to trade them after they lose their value. Make up your minds people lol

Exactly, age 31. McBride is 25. The age is my only argument against making him highest paid TE

The thing is, who ever said we should drop Kittle until this article came out? At least with Deebo, you were never on thr bandwagon. You didn't want us extending him back in 2021, so you were at least consistent with that situation.

Yes and no. Aiyuk deal was probably a goof. We'll see. Kittle? He's a 31 year old TE that will turn 32 in October. There are a lot of miles on that body, those legs and those knees. Should we extend Kittle? Indeed, yes. But make it performance based and not longer than three years.
I am all for the purge of older vets and a youth movement

BUT

Paying Trent Williams CMC Fred Warner and George Kittle I am fine with

WHY

Because all are bonafide HOF players still playing as top two or three in the entire league at their positions

That should be the standard when paying our guys as they age out of their rookie contracts

If we extend top of market that's where their play needs to be

Sign Kittle Niner for life

I have no argument against Kittle. He's HOF caliber and still at an elite level. I'm paying him like yesterday
