Our D is solid and our QBs suck.

Until Hoyer and Beathard fully prove it, this is my same thinking as well.

Same can be said about our defense too right?

The individual talent on defense jumped out last Friday. Haven't seen that in a long time. A handful of offensive players jumped out as well. But, Hoyer didn't jump out. Until he does this, with command, I will be skeptical of our passing game.

Defense didn't jump out till the 2s came in. Same with the offense

Like I am with Hoyer, I would have been worried if they didn't jump out vs the 2's.

ATT's right, Alex could have passed on us all day long. When an INT was finally thrown...it was from Bray. Alex didnt play any longer than Hoyer did with the ones.

Meanwhile every press and team indication is that Hoyer is not only meeting but exceeding expectations to the point they may not need to replace him next year and Beathard is playing Barkley out of a job.
Any word from the Bronco's beat writers? I find other teams' perspectives can be illuminating. Sometimes our beat writers drink the Kool Aid too.

Not much yet...mostly because they are laser focused on how dire their own QB situation is...it is really bad out there. I think any of our guys would start over what they have.

This writer used our writer's comments to describe DEN QB play. Good move since the homer fan comments after the article attack Joe Fann and Grant Cohn and not the DEN writer. SMH at fans who are in denial. Funny, one fan tells the truth saying we put in our 3rd stringers to help Paxton get some momentum.

Another writer only compared Paxton with Simien which was more on the favorable side.

Thanks! Looks like the Donkey fans are really sweating it... looking for a QB trade now...

Want Barkley for a 3rd round pick ?
I think it's overreaction by the Denver fans. Siemian is no frills, but he has shown he can move the offense. They just need Paxton to cover 3-5 games if Siemian gets injured. I don't think they can ride Paxton in the playoff and think he will get them deep.

They're the 3rd best team in their division. They're not going anywhere.

DEN fans are actually in denial.

We're talking about preseaon lol coaches talk about what they want to work on and run vanilla everything.

Remember when we won every preseason game in 2010 lol

Just last yr in preseaon SF was top 5 in goal offense and 1 in rushing during the preseason

I thought we did ok against a top 5 team. Being our first action with as much turnover from the previous year. Penalties showed some gelling issues. Also it was weird that KC needed to game plan against a 31st ranked team

the whole vanilla thing is just an excuse. The 1st drive for the D was horrendous. That being said, they did have a potential INT dropped that would have stopped that drive. I don't put a ton of stock into preseason but I also don't put any stock into the vanilla excuse as to why a team looks like s**t

Well after one joint practice with a playoff caliber team. It seems like this year's team is a lot better than last year's. This time last year, we were reading up on how Denver dominated us in practice and it was one-sided on all three phases of the game. Today's reports were a lot close between the two teams which is a really good sign for our future. We are going to surprise a lot of people this year. NFC WEST is wide open. Book it!!

It took Matt Ryan more than one year to become proficient in this offense. All our starters minus hoyer have this problem. And hoyer won't play all 16 games. Plus, how does an 8-8 season help us draft a QBOTF? Can't count on cousins either.

I'm not saying we should try to lose. But I'm not rooting for us to win either.

For the most part, the defense was in position. There were a couple missed tackles and one bad coverage along with one dropped INT. Didn't get the feeling that we were carved up at all.
